Pretty much no. It is the gesso of cuisine, no character of its own but the portrait benefits.
You need to meet someone that really knows how to cook it. It can be good.


I gotta find the recipe. But it's basically honey, soy sauce and some spices and then fried. Really, really good. Crispy skin, sweet and spicy. Good in a bunch of things or on it's own.

I don't think I've knowingly ever eaten tofu but I do like pretty much all cheeses. Does it taste "like" anything else?
Tofu taste like what ever you cook it with.

Have you had Miso soup at a Japanese restaurant?

Ingredients

Original recipe yields 4 servings

  • 4 cups water
  • 3 tablespoons miso paste
  • 1 (8 ounce) package silken tofu, diced
  • 2 green onions, sliced diagonally into 1/2 inch pieces

The house smells so good.
I’ve undertaken making cheese enchiladas from basically scratch (ok the tortillas are from a bag). The sauce is reducing on the stove now. That big bright hit of cumin and oregano is being backed by the simmering chiles.
