Why would one plant in a dozen be Phosphorus deficient?

I have a dozen plants in various states of veg. Some are mothers, a few clones and some 5 week old seedlings. One of the seedlings is showing signs of a lack of phosphorus, all the others are perfectly healthy. They have all been treated the same. All been fed the same. They are all in the same soil mix and the PH is good. Any ideas?


I was going to add a little Superphosphate to it's feed and see what happens.

Yep, I have 3 of these, Critical from RQS. This is the last multistrain grow I am doing, I yearn for consistency. None of my other two Criticals are doing it and I have run Critical many times before with zero issue. I find it odd that this one is behaving like this.

PH would be a likely possibility. It can be hard to tell what the PH at the root zone is like but that would be my guess if the other plants are all fine.

If the medium and feed are identical why would the PH of this one be different to the other two I have of the same strain?

I guess the best way of testing the PH of this one plant would be to test the run off?

I am reluctant. It isn't anywhere close to legal here. I know what is wrong, I am happy I can rectify it. I just want to understand what is going on.

Hybrids do it to me often enough to chalk it up to pheno expression...i just kill the plant, say a short prayer, and keep on motoring. Unless RQS took that line past F5 ur gonna see that last 5-8%

Because it hasnt been brought to true breeding form yet, homozygous genotype.
So maybe that 1 seedling is expressing a sensitivity to what all other plants like.

hi, doing a side by side organic and inorganic grow and found some of my mums super phosphate, labled in a jar but with no instructions, how much would you add to a feed and what NPK is the feed your suplimenting

The packet I have bought suggests 35g per M2. I am using NPK 6 4 8, so I was going to add a teaspoon full to 1L of made up feed and see what happens. I will leave it a while as I have potted her up and I shall see if that makes a difference first.

Phenotype and genotype variations.

if this was happening with a 1 clone of 5 clones from the same mother then I would be more concerned about something being afoot in your room.

phosphorous can be limited by cold temps.

so if a clone too close to a fan or intake source was seeing signs of P def when others from the same mother didn’t show it then look to the environmental factors.

When dealing with seeds it could be just the expression of Pheno or Geno.

Now you say that, it is the plant closest to the little desk fan I am running. I'll move the fan to see if that makes any difference.

I don't get this... You've already admitted in words with many details of growing plants illegal in your area. What do you think pictures are going to do? Incriminate you more than the words you've already typed?

Stick with your own comfort level as its your freedom on the line not ours.

I'm pretty sure RIU strips the data but if you do decide to share images be sure to use a VPN or Tor and turn off your location

I’ve shared pics on this site since 2009 and just turn off location and GPS data for pics.

If you want something to help you feel less uncomfortable posting pics here, I recommend using an EXIF editor to strip the metadata from the photo files before uploading.
