Horticultural science has proven (not opinion, fact) that vegative propagation (aka cloning) produces a plant with an exact copy of the original DNA, and there is no degradation of any of its genetics, or traits. It is actually the same plant, not a "clone" like so many think from watching sci-fi movies.

So weather its keeping a mother plant for 30 years and taking cuttings, or taking a cutting, from a cutting, from cutting (once they stablize) the plant isn't going to change, and is the only possible way to preserve that plant, as seeds will have traits of the parents, but will have a new DNA and genetic makeup.

What does happen though, is people have different grow setups, lights, feeding, environmental factors, in which has a great deal of effect in how the plant grows and finishes, no matter how the mother was.
Best answer on here.

If you keep them healthy you can keep them forever. I've grown strains that have been around for 30 years or more. I still have one now.

never grown an og, is it sativa dominant. it sounds like it
That's super debated. There are so many different stories and shit. Some say it's Sativa dominant, some say Indica.

Personally I think there are different OG's and I think some are more Sativa dominant and some are more Indica dominant depending on which one you get.

I also think the name OG stems from Ocean Grown, not Original Gangster or Overgrown like some do.

Here's one sites version of the truth, lol.

I don't believe OG is a Chemdawg strain, but I guess it could have been a parent of OG. I don't know. Chem 91 does have an OG structure.

I don't believe the shit they're talking about OG being a Chemdawg cut. That's asinine if you ask me. Because the famous Chemdawg isn't really called Chemdawg. Chemdawg was the name of the guy who popped some seeds he got from a guy that he met at a Grateful Dead show. And the one that he thought was the best was Chem 91, so the real Chemdawg is actually Chem 91. There are 3 other Chem strains that he started. Chem D, Chem's Sister, and Chem 4 were the other's. I've grown Chem 91 a few times, and still have a box of it.

.
That's some reading that one

Probably awhile before mutations start to show. You’re keeping something alive many times it’s natural lifespan the ends of dna strands split, and repair themselves but with small variations each time. Does this change potency or terpenes, probably not to any noticeable degree. Does it affect growth, maybe never grown a clone that’s many generations old someone give me a pre 98 bubba cut and I’ll find out lol bongsmilie
