It's really dry here, so when I started venting outside my RH dropped drastically.Worried about the cold

HPS might be old school but nothing better on a Canadian winter morning. That brings me to the first issue I ran in to planning this grow. The insulated room will be in an uninsulated garage and I’m in Colorado so I feel like I’m gonna have a very hard time controlling temperatures by venting
Yep, had another guy i was helping and he just wouldnt hear me that he need a real humidifier. It's really dry here, so when I started venting outside my RH dropped drastically.
Foam board over mold resistant drywall they use for bathrooms? And then vent the room or still run sealed? Another reason we liked the idea of sealed is less chance for bugs and outside variables as we want to make it as autonomous as possible less troubles from what our understanding has beenYou'll be fine. Insulte with R30 roll insulation, Plastic lining inside and and out. 1/2 inch foam board inside. You be good.
Really trying to stay with LED, want to make the most efficient setup possibleHPS might be old school but nothing better on a Canadian winter morning.
Nah, it can go behind the drywall. And you shouldnt need mold resistant drywall. Paint the room with latex paint really good. Trust that adding humidity will be your bigger issue then getting rid of it.Foam board over mold resistant drywall they use for bathrooms? And then vent the room or still run sealed? Dont discount it. If for the 12-18 hours that your HPS is running your split heat proly wont be. Bringing in cold air outside could be more efficient than the split heater, co2 and led. That will depend on how well that room is insulated.Really trying to stay with LED, want to make the most efficient setup possible

so the other thing, is if I go this route, running hvac is going to be a pain as I don’t have a window nearby I can vent out nor do I have a previous duct I can use. I don’t own the house so cutting holes in the house probably won’t flyNah, it can go behind the drywall. And you shouldnt need mold resistant drywall. Paint the room with latex paint really good. As for bugs, on the outside of your passive intake make it big enough to put a furnace filter over it. Furnace filter are cheap and will keep that stuff out. On the wall use 2 studs . Opening at the top ouside and a opening at the bottom inside. make it as wide as you need for your hvac calculations.
Yes I’m building it in the garage. I could absolutely do it like that I just didn’t know if that would be a viable route. There wouldn’t be a problem venting in from the garage and exhausting back in to it? Remember the garage is uninsulated and is not included in the central air. But it’s not air tight so in theory should be alright? So is the room you building inside the garage? Just vent into the garage with one of the walls you build.
So In this case If I do this I probably won’t even need the dehumidifier? Or should I still grab it? I just read with sealed rooms the humidity gets crazy during the night periods. Im looking at the Ac Infinity Temp controlled fans. Im liking this idea because I can probably ditch the mini split if I were to go that routeyep. When I had my 8x8 in my basement i ran 2 1k hps barebulbs, vented right into my basement. in the back wall i had exhaust in the uper top corner and in the left wall bottom most left corner i had intake.
Im gonna be honest. Building a room, insulating it to CO weather, and then turning it into a grow room is a undertaking. A big one. Yes you will need a Dehumidifer, humidifer, Split ac as well. Temps in the summer going to get hot in that garage and you will need cooling. The venting is only for co2. A $100 fan is cheaper than running co2. That has nothing to do with your environmental control. Thats just air quality. So In this case If I do this I probably won’t even need the dehumidifier? Or should I still grab it? Ok thank you my bad I follow you now. And that’s what I will do. I really appreciate it. My limit is 6 plants flower 6 plants veg, so I’m trying to figure out how maximize the space for biggest yield. Obviously scrounging these plants is they way to do that for me so what do you think the best way for me to go big in this space is? I’m gonna ditch these lights I have money to put behind this grow I just want I to be Legit done right and be quality. To vent that you would want a 6 inch inline fan that you could drop the speed down around 75%. They move 400ish cfm, for a 10x10x8 foot room we need 266 cfm air exhange. 4" is only 200. and would run full blast. 6inch is the way pulling through a filter and we need about 300. 266 without filter 300 with.

Cool. So lets back up just a bit. I feel like we may be going way over the top. Everyone wants good yield. Ive pulled 1.5 lb plant out of a 3x6 space every 60 days. So is this just for you and another person. Know a production goal is where to plan from.Ok thank you my bad I follow you now. And that’s what I will do. I really appreciate it. LIke for me. I consume a half ounce a week. thats 2 ounces a month. I have 4 smokers in my house. So 8 ounces a month or 1 lb every 60 days. So If i can grow 1.5 lbs every 60 days in a 3x6 space, have enough for 4 adults smokers. With a half pound overage, why would you need a 10x10 room. Thats for smoke. Now if we go to concentrates. I have triple my output. So 3 lbs every 60 days. I can pull 3 from a 5x5 space every 60 days with a 2x4 veg. or add another 5x5 and now im at 3lbs every 30 days or 6 lbs every 60 days. How much we talkig here? (this is all dependent on strain selection too btw)Cool. So lets back up just a bit. I feel like we may be going way over the top. Everyone wants good yield. It’s for me and the wife. She has lots of health issues and can only use edibles mtnigg heCool. So lets back up just a bit. I feel like we may be going way over the top. Everyone wants good yield. Its for me and the wife, and the wife’s parents. They have health issues that makes it so she can only use edibles and tinctures. And I use concentrates and edibles so really looking to go as big as I can within my space and my limit so I don’t have to be going to the store all the time anymore and spending ridiculous moneyCool. I have access to the whole works for processing my buddy has a pure pressure long peak and we will be turning everything to rosin that is the plan. And I have actually watched a lot of that series actually! I love his content. It’s nothing but an hour drive from meWell then we definatly want to do living soil. Rosin from living soil is imo the best. And for home care, once you make everything into rosin its easy to convert to tinctures. For living soil, go check out Build A soil 10 x10 on youtube. And your in CO, you could proly drive to them and have the best source of living soil and products in the country. Theyre in Montrose.
Spend the time planning this out to the end. If your wanting to convert evertying to concentrate or edible think about the processing equipment. Your doing lbs, so you will want a trimmer, rosin press, oil extractor. If you want bubble hash, bags, washer, freeze dryer. Growing it is one thing, processing it is a whole other thing. less cost more labor, more cost less labor. We about to go down the rabbit hole.
