Maybe it's just me, but would grow lamps really stand out that much from what appears to be miles away? That house was like a beacon in that helicopter image lol.

I would be so pissed, I'd probably sue! How does a hot spot in your roof justify a search? It makes me sick to think police have to resort to using IR camera's to find grow op's. You know it's your tax money that pays for those choppers and if you ever did a search to find out how much the camera alone cost. . . $100,000 + easy, hand held units are in the $20,000+ range and the fuel for that pig to joy ride in his chopper? fuck who knows, but with fuel at an all time high it aint cheap. . . they can't catch the guy without help from this sort of thing and even then they can't be sure it's fucking pathetic! How about a camera that seeks out rapists and child molesters?

Yer. Britian sucks atm. All dealers are getting cracked down in my area. Seen at least 10 different huge scale discoveries in my local paper in the last few months. This then makes people want to grow, which is bad because then more people get caught. Bah ;s


Im guessing they dont get a good thermal reading off of 1-10 plants?

Just read the post above me. Gotta agree with the high price costs, ages ago me and my friends got busted on a mini motorbike by a heat seaking heli. To be honest, im guessing the price that they paid for fuel, officers and transport etc is just way pointless. They could of spent all that money taking down murderers and rapists. Instead, they hunt down a bunch of teens on a mini moto - -. These days its all about figures in the uk, not the crime ;/ If I was in America id complain more but seems english laws are pretty laid back compared to US.

but it's had for me to feel sympathy for those that get caught using this technology because a few precauctions should have been taken to begin with. For starters, if you're going to be emitting that much light from your lamps than you shouldn't be growing your crop at the highest point in your house. I understand for some it might be the only suitable spot, but if that's the case than you shouldn't be emitting such a large amount of light. I still believe only two types of people get caught, stupid people and careless people.

you can always use a completely sealed room with an AC and humidifier too like the urban grower suggests and they do make insulation that is thermal proofed, it's what I use, but I only start clones indoors for outdoor use.

I only tend to read about it being used in the UK not in the US but in the end it's always about being prepared.

What is IR paper and where do you find it? I plan to use rubber roofing to line the insides of the walls after I apply R90 insulation all over. Think that would work ? And imagine if they were growing with a roof like that.. my gosh it would really stand out.

Is anyone using IR paper? & does it work?
It would be great if a mylar was created which also make heat undetectable to those cameras.

I would hate to get busted I only grow for my own personal use.

Im not sure where you can find it. Im sure google does though lol.

A buddy of mine that uses it said its almost $200 a roll. Im sure Hydroponics stores can get it.
