Cold air blowing back in

Just getting started. For my 2’x4’x50” tent, I have a 190 cfm fan being used to vent outside through a window. It’s a 4” fan with an 8’ long 4” diameter dryer vent hose. Now that it’s colder today I’m noting that cold air is making its way back into the tent. I thought the fan was more than adequate but maybe not. If it is adequate it could be that I haven’t insulated the junction with vent hose and window properly. Appreciate your thoughts.

Remember, when you vent outside, an equal amount of air gets sucked back inside. I've seen setups where the cold air was being sucked back inside the room from around the ducting itself. This is why a lot of people don't vent outside in cold climates.

Yeah I sense that’s what’s happening here. Will the carbon filter sufficiently remove odors if I just vent inside?

I used the same fan with a Vivosun carbon filter in a 4x4 venting into a garage and you couldn't smell anything until you opened up the tent.

I have yet to see a filter that removes all the smell. In veg it works but once flowers form its pretty hard to control without venting outside.

I use a 6" Vivosun filter in a 4x4 tent. Can't smell anything until you unzip the door even in flower.
