Stabilizing genetics

Do I need to stabilize a cross between two varieties....lets say 3 or 4 generations before crossing it with another genetic?

Let me tell you my plans I have a cross I created myself from seeds when I was a young whippersnapper lol thing is this cross is a second generation (med-high THC) so genetics are probably still unstable..if I wanted to breed it with CBD varieties would it be smart to stabilize the first cross before crossing it with a CBD strain ? Would it matter

The goal would be to end up with a 1:1 ratio or as close as possible to that ratio (Im aware CBD breeding can be difficult)...I planned on maybe sending samples in to determine which profile I liked more...or find a mother plant I liked and just clone it

I Kno there are 1:1 ratios already out there...but you gotta admit it's more fun to make your own

Definitely fun. Are there traits you are trying to isolate from the first cross? If so, then I would advise a couple generations for stability. If not... mix up those genetics! See what ya get!

Yea a few of the traits would be a calming indica effect with a indistinguishable smell of fruit loops cereal man I mean Everytime I smell it smells like fruit loops so I named it Froot...like a play on the word fruit...I have a a CBD strain I'd like to mix and see if I could get a 1:1 ratio or close to it...

So you suggest a couple more generations? I thought so my self but Its exciting and I just want to get this show on the road lol

I'm waiting on 8 to start showing and then, since I'm wanting to eliminate the males, and then back with the STS. Speaking of... I need to order some more. I really want to get a stable Wedding Cake to play with. The line I have likes to herm.

Get this last harvest I had 6 females 1 male 4 different strains but the male...(the only male I had) I have no idea what it is where it came nothing is known about it...so I had no choice but to breed with it lol...so we will see what traits the father shows...I hate to hear about ur herm problem tho...I'd love to get ahold of some good landraces later down the road...I feel like they would be good building blocks for breeding

Yeah I'm hoping "switch" from optic foliar might stop it. I've got 2 of them running right now so we'll see. I'm really excited to get some of the new beans I just got in started. Some strong Hawaiian strains.

update: Optic Foliar's "Switch"
Gitchasum! Sorry. Get you some. I had 3 girls get stressed and threw a couple sacs. I hit them as per instructions and I haven't had any more issues. And the girls look great, at least to me.
How many weeks u at in that picture

I flipped them on the 26th of September and that was on the 16th of November, so that's 7 weeks and 2 days from the flip, so in reality about 6 weeks in flower. I'm currently on trich-watch with Mimosa (pic ending 853) I'll try to get some new pics tonight.

Highly recommend MARIJUANNA BOTONY by Robert Connell Clark . he explains Gregor Mendel law of hereditary traits very clearly. very necessary to understand proper breeding techniques
