Hi, first time I'm posting I usually find an answer in existing threads!
I recently switched to RDWC first grow got chronic root problems and ended up using a lot of H202, managed to keep it at bay but small root mass and stunted growth led to poor yield.
bleached everything, started again, 1st week or 2 looked fine, nice and green, white roots, then noticed this brown slime/snot on the air rings again. seemed to appear once i put in the cannazym. A bit of research I discovered its possibly cyanobacteria, likes oxygen, doesnt need light.
See thread
so I've brewed up some of this tea and everything seems good, plants very healthy, totally lush green leaves, roots zone big, but some discolouring and a bit of dead matter appearing floating in the water. Still new white soots appearing but i want to stay on top of this. Just switched to 12/12.
Here's some photos but it's hard to tell in the light
Question is:
I want to re introduce the enzymes to help deal with any dead organic, but I'm concerned it may set off and feed the slime again! Any advice gratefully received, shall I put it in? or just grow without?
Alien RDWC
I'm using chiller, temps between 18-20c
Canna A + B
Canna Riz
Microbe tea
water change once a week, flushing out with root rot X (new alien product its a stabilised acid disinfectant) before that was using Flora Kleen

DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes
When a clear snot forms on roots in a DWC, and the normal course of treatment for root disease doesn't work, you probably have something called brown slime algae, which actually isn't algae at all, but a cyanobacteria. It loves oxygen and doesn't need light to grow. It doesn't care if your res...
