What's up guys it's been a while since I've actually been on here...life man that's all I got to say but any way it's time for a new one I'm getting everything cleaned and packed/unpacked yall Kno the deal.

Here's the question...let me fill you in with what's goin

Im switching to no till living soil I have everything I need to get started here's the thing we all know the bigger the container the easier it is to maintain the soil life...so why not dump everything in a 65 gal pot and call it a day? Well i could be moving here soon I probably have enough time for at least one more harvest (hopefully chop and be cured by 4/20 or close)...so I don't really have any body to help me move a 65 gal pot when moving time comes...what pot size should I go with in a 3x3 that's 36inches....could I squeeze 4 15s or should I do 4 10s or do like a 20 gal pot? Should I do the 65 gallon and just shovel it into buckets to bring it to the the new place...but then I would be disturbing the soil...I want to go as big as possible in order to keep the soil biology thriving but also fill my canopy space up wall to wall lbvs

Preference for me is go as big a possible but like I said idk what to do with the possibility of moving in the next 6 months...what would you do?

Thank you guys your awesome

Here's the measurements of the pots

Remember that my tent is 36inches and I'd like to use pot saucers if possible

Nice man. Sounds fun. Quick question what makes these pots living soil pots? Soil can stay just as alive in a black plastic nursery pot.
9x5 gal if clones( one or two week veg) or 4x10s if seed is where I would be.

I’m more curious about your soil recipe, but I’m a soil nerd.

Im a soil nerd too I have recipes I'll probably never use

But the one I'm using right now is
Pumice
Peat
Oly compost
Worm cast
Par Boiled Rice Hulls
Kashi Blend
Crustacean Meal
Kelp Meal
Neem Cake/Karanja
Milled Malted Barley
Basalt - Highly paramagnetic.
Gypsum Dust
Oyster Shell Flour
Precharged biochar
12 seed cover crop

I just need some straw for mulch

5 gals are out the equation for me...I feel like I will be chasing my tail the entire grow...4x10s I should have some leg room but...I could do four 15s but those would be wall to wall so idk how it would work out

I would do a 3x3 raised bed if you have the ability.
I have a 3x3 bed but when it comes time to move it what am i goin to do ? Plus the 3x3 in 33 inches so it would fit in the 3x3 tent but then again it's wall to wall

Lol 3x3 bed is like 70 gals of soil I can't move that

I thought maybe shovel it out when it's time to go

Well, to me at least, if you're wanting to do no till, you don't want to disturb the soil much (hence the name no till). If you plan on doing a lot of moving around, I'd just do recycled living soil.

I do no till in an earthbox, in a 3x3.....

I don't see a need for more than that. It filled the scrog no problem.

I just emptied a 4x8 grassroots bed. Sucks horrible. And for some reason I had a centipede pop that was giving the heeby jebies. I foolishly set it up not knowing the long term availability of the space.

if you have to move anywayjust plan on recycling soil into future no till bed. Go with7s or 10s but don’t plan it to be no till. Easy enough to plan a more rols style reammending plan in place of no till bed. Then when you have your permanent place set the bed up.

Earth boxes are awesome I thought about maybe two in a 3x3 a while back...I could flip faster. Idk what to do with all this soil tho...I didn't think about moving untill now...

4 10s in the 3x3 and then fit the rest in 2 15s in a 2x4 how's that sound to everybody?

That's 70 gallons of soil which is all the soil I have

So you had to recycle your soil for the 4x8 right?

I thought centipedes we're beneficial to the plant

I'm so tempted to just dump it all in there lol I seen a guy do a 100 gall pot living soil in a 4x4 so I thought why can't I do a 65 in a 3x3 lol...I'm here now up to my knees in soil...

Yes it was more the feeling of 100s running all over as I dug up their homes, they were passed.

a big bed is ultimately less maintaince during the first grow cycle. If your not worried aboutdigging in up than go for it.

Since you’re experimenting I’d err smaller so you don’t run into an issue where veg took too long and you can’t finish. Skip no-till for this run maybe and do a small pot method?

That said IF it were me and considering my own skill and wanting to be done before April…starting from seed?
I’d be thinking four 7 gallon at most. Want a fan or anything on the floor? 3 sevens. I personally like 4 five gallon but I’m running ProMix and nectar line at the moment which I wouldn’t recommend unless you already had their gear.

I see fabric pots now that are taller than wide so there are more options than last I looked but every time I try to go bigger pots I run into issues in the small tent.

I’m only maybe 4 year experience though. Whole time flowering a 3x3 which is why I replied, but ymmv.
