@green_machine_two9er- I shouldn't have no problems recycling that soil in another bed should i ? Once I get it re-inoculated throw some cover crop worms etc

@Hollatchaboy - I have time for one more round..if I stop I won't have any

@hotrodharley - no way dawg lol are you talking like a sog method with a bunch of 1 gals...I couldnt lol I seen guys do it but Idk lol I feel like you'd have to feed and water everyday

@M.O. - Why not run 4 10s ?

are you even sure 4 10 gallon pots will physically fit in a 3x3? Keep in mind the saucers too, unless you have a tray in there. 4 plants is a really tight fit in that space unless you aren't vegging and just flip from clones. Even 3 plants will be tight, but doable. If you are using living soil, I'd do 2 plants in 15 gal minimum rather than use smaller pots-you'll have fewer issues with bigger pots.

Bro, just grow 1 big plant. I do it in a 3x3 all the time. 15 gallons w/ recycled soil, should be fine.

They don’t actually fit in the tent. The fabric pots I have are a little wider than tall and my saucers for them I think are 18 inch. Problem is the ‘3x3’ was a cheapie and only 34 actual inches square. I’ve ran two 10s but it takes a while for me with my skill to get them crankin in a 10. By that time just one would fill the tent too. And I love a fan on the floor under the canopy. My 4 five gallon (plus fan on the floor) works well and reduced veg time by a lot. With the small pot I personally did need to use some nutrients line. Failed slowly with recycled soil since I never got a worm bin going. Long story and needed a win. I’d never go more than two 10s, three 7s, 4 fives, or nine 3s.
So tired of the small tent but rebuild is going to take a while and it contains the smell nicely.

A smaller volume of soil is harder to keep the nutrition level up, when your plants get big. It takes a while for organic matter to break down, and in a smaller container, it gets eaten up faster, than it can be produced. You could try nutrient/compost tea, in between feedings, instead of bottled nutes, though it would probably get tedious.

4 x 5gal nursery pots will get you through the grow, lf from seed veg for 1 month then flip, will be done dried and jarred, not neccessarily cured but smokable buy April. Might even do 6 week veg and make it. Ive got mine in 5g and no problems, well into flower now. And are a decent size for pots. 8 gal nursery pots may fit also, plenty big enough!

What do you feed? Are you using bottled nutes?

Powdered one part, supposed to be cannabis specific nutes. Am using bottled B+ stress relief. As add on. Other than that epsom and molasses in tapwater. Trying kiss method, no more 20 bottles in regiment.
Ok, so you're not having to wait on organic material to break down. It's easier in smaller containers when you actually feed the plant, not the microbes in the soil.

Thats actually what the op should do. Container size doesn't matter so much then.

You are in a situation where you have to balance rather than choose.

- Balance your projects/grow: you want to go no-till but have to move in a few months.
Best option for me would be to do an organics run, and then recycle that soil in your future no-till mix.

- For your next grow: balance pot size and how many of them, taking into account the time you have.

I do not over calculate my grows, but i like to lay a baseline for action:
So let's say 10 days dry and 84 days (12 weeks) flowering: you should be flipping the plants to 12/12 around January 15th.

That leaves you with 6-7 weeks. Do you already have the seeds? Clones? You already know them? Maybe you have a plant that truly finishes 2-4 weeks before and can veg longer, etc.

2 x 5-15gal pots should do the job. 1 pot is possible, would take longer. I did 1x10gal twice in a 3x3 and both times ended up saying that next one would be 2x5-10g. 2x5g can fill a 3x3 canopy if plants develop enough branches.
Living organics is very doable in those smaller size containers, i mean the 5-10gal pots. So don't worry about that.
I wouldn't overthink it here: if money is not problem, you can get the pot you want. In my case, i would use what i have at hand. That would be 5gal o 10gal pots for me. I wouldn't buy a 15gal pot for one run if the next one will be no-till in 65gals. You get the idea.

@Rurumo - 4 10s (16in) will fit on 17in plant saucers...but the 15s are 18in so they would have to sit on 18in saucers in order to fit....that's why I was kinda leaning towards 4 10s because Id still have a inch of room...

I can't man lol I dont wanna force feed I want to do organics and let the biology take over and the plant feed it self....but another thing I thought I could do is run a couple earth boxes in the 3x3 but 2 earth boxes is only 1 cubic foot of soil...I'd have so much left over soil

I have a 33in bed on hand that's it for containers...or a 65 gallon pot

They're 1 cu.ft. each. 2 cu.ft. total.

Okay so here's what I'm thinking I might could move a 30 gal if I don't feel it up all the way...then I have 2 extra lights if I get a 2x4 tent I'll have a full set up I'll throw 2 15s in that and I also have another 2*4 space in my closet and I'll use a earth box for that space with the remaining 10 gals of soil

I have 70 gals in total ...I honestly feel this is what I will do...and I should be able to move all that because they are smaller pots...plus I could do no till I'm the 30...if I can't move it I think my cousin would help move it...or I could find somebody

You can do no till in earthboxes also. I'm just getting ready to start round 2 on mine.
