100 actual watts / plant is a good rule of thumb with cfls. less than 100 watts per plant is fine during veg but you definatley want to shoot for 100/plant in flower

LST is in the GrowFAQ at the top left of the page under growing methods and mediums. you can get wrapping paper with the shinny backing at any dollar store this time of year. its much cheaper than mylar and works almost as well.

You may have to look a little bit but its worth it. I just got back from the party store (balloons, wrapping paper, party favors and what nots) Obviously they have a good selection of wrapping paper right now. Took me a minute but found some "foil wrapping paper", tore away a bit of the plastic and looked behind it to find it was reflective! Took it to the register and it rang up as "Mylar assorted" DING DING DING!!!! Was like 3 bucks for a 6 foot by 24 or 30 inch roll.

Also emergency blankets at walmart in the campin section but I havn't seen them, may be a better bet going for the wrappin paper?

it doesn't make much sense to me to have a setup that can't even grow as much as I smoke. so even with a kick ass micro setup operating at peak performance with awesome genetics, if the setup can't yield as much as I smoke then its no good to me.

i think space is the limiting factor... so i guess i agree with rolla on the space

It can be done by a newb with the right advice. knock the Mg soil, knock the "all purpose" nutes, knock the amount of light, knock the auqa globes, but the space can produce more than a "few grams". read your first post again. you were talking strictly about his space being useless. discouraging a new grower does them just as big a disservice as getting their hopes up. let me be clear, the only thing i disagreed with was your comment about his space producing only a few grams. I agree with all the oither advise you've given in this thread. and i never said i thought he could theoreticlly yield ounces or anything about a technically perfect crop.

Right, but different strokes right? I mean, look at his latest grow:

how many of us in the cfl forum can do that (we're most likely cfl growin because of limited space, i mean it just doesn't make sense to cfl grow if you have the space and knowledge (or courage) to just bust out growin more for the first few times.

rolla, you are the man and offer EXCELLENT ADVICE. I noticed you are more then willing to offer your experience to people asking for it, I by no means am discounting that. You have great grows and obviously know what your talking about. Most of us need to keep reading and we gotta start somewhere.

Me and my fiance go through about 2 ounces a month, I only expect (hope) to get an ounce my first grow between 1 or two plants. The 3-4 months it will most likely take (depending on my bag seed strain) to harvest obviously will not cover me until my next harvest (unless I possibly stair step my grow a bit). However, I am not (an cannot) start my grow with HPS throwin light on 5 plants, i just don't have enough room or resources (or time or knowledge) to do that. A micro stealth cfl grow is perfect for my situation and if i produce jack or an ounce I will have gotten more out of my experience then what I harvest.

totally... everybody has to choose their own path. to me it illustrates the flexibility of cannabis. grow it small... grow it tall. if you treat it right she will treat you right in return.

this is a good thread... disagreement without personal attacks... :joint::hump:

Whatsup Atari...

Thank you for your kind words. I sincerely appreciate the feedback. I fully understand where you are coming from and, even though my personal philosophy is "Go Big or Go Home", I realize that everyone is different and is working with a different set of circumstances than I am. Micro operations and smaller stealth grows are pretty much the foundation of this forum and, at the very least, is where most people start out. When it comes to growing Marijuana, the saying "To each, his own" is truly appropriate. My goal is to help as many people as I can grow the best weed possible, and in the process learn everything I possibly can. Everyday I am on this forum I learn something new, and it is this reciprocal sharing of knowledge that makes this place so great. I certainly did not mean to alienate anyone or bash anyone for running a smaller grow than I run, and if I came off that way, I sincerely apologize to anyone who was put off or offended. Again, thank you for the feedback and best of luck with all your future harvests :-D
