when the delta block tops come in, all the Algea will die, its the exposure to air thats allowing it to grow. but its not going to effect growth or health

some plugs will get it worse then others, and it is still not going to be an issue. i still have not been shown through any measurable data how it dmgs the plant


i am actually very confused at the amount of pearl clutching and confusion as to how this wont be an issue... its very simple, it is a issue that is factored into the crop planning( just like all the other common issues that affect grows) and its not only under control it was never out of control... people doing their best to manipulate how i am perceived are going to work overtime, if the algea is such a big problem it will be evident in the growth and health of the plants, ill post up my test results at the end. Numbers dont lie

but time will be the best crucible to who is correct, i am not worried at all

Light is what allows it to grow. I used to run rockwool slabs in flood trays covered in panda film so that just the plant stuck out. Any algae going in died soon after. It will stay green, but I won’t cause any problems. The roots under that panda film went absolutely ballistic. I would still be using that setup if the slabs were easier to water. I didn’t want to flood to drain like 30 gallons a day.

9" slabs are what im going to use under the delta blocks. ya feeding grodan has to be done in a specific fashion or it loses its advantage of acting like a pressurized system pulling in atmosphere as it drys or plant intakes feed

I used the Unislabs a few times, but didn't really care for them. What I noticed was the water didn't get wicked much beyond where the watering hole via transplant cube sat. The rockwool around the top and along the far sides stayed dry and looked brand new after the harvest. I eventually started taking them out of the bags and doing the panda film thing. I think the hugo blocks would work better. Especially if the transplant cube was fairly big, like 6" or so.
