Coco presents its own challenges, you need to rinse it of salts and buffer it with mg and ca if it hasn’t been done already.

Yes I have read that I was thinking of buying pre buffered coco to use something like canna coco pro plus and use some of their nutrient line as well as it seems pretty simple to start with good results.

I don’t think so I never let it dry out completely, I just wait until about the top inch or two is dry and then water.

Pretty sure it's a septoria fungus, you might help fight it with more air movement. I'm an organic grower and not anyones nutes expert but I don't believe this has anything to do with them.

Yes I’ve been researching it quite a bit and seems you have to get ph and the ppm bang on or you run into trouble and it does seem more hard work and time consuming then soil grows but just fancy giving it a go, I thought you couldn’t go organic in coco?

Yes I’ve seen the video but I’ve also read that a few people have had problems following his method doing this.

Only time i had issues with that method was when I didn't properly PH my water out of laziness. Thats why i stopped using coco and switched to soil. I just didn't have the time or energy to do it right. I ended up with the same issues using bottled nutrient salts With coco too. My well water is at 7.8 PH. No issues in the organic soil though.

I would love to grow organic in coco will definitely be giving it a try in the future, I have found a company that does dry amendments you can apparently mix into the coco and all you have to do is water and can get good results called dr forest, but I think first time round I will just be using the canna nutrients to get my head around it. Is there much difference in time to harvest and yield using coco compared to soil?

The soil will buffer the input pH very quickly.

What is your water source, do you know the ppm?

That’s true to a certain extent. The problems you are experiencing I had but I fixed them with dolomite lime. Let me explain;

After time soft water will acidify the growing media. This is because there is no/little calcium/magnesium present. You might read a high pH but again there’s a difference between pH and alkalinity. Soft water has low alkalinity. Yea you can add some calmag but it’s often too late. You need to add a buffer to compensate. That’s why I suggested lime for the next run.

Could mix 1tbsp into a gallon of water and apply. That’ll help get you to the end without further issues.

WHY?!!! The first couple weeks of flowering are very important and set the tone for the remainder of the flowering period. You should not be having any deficiencies during this period. Feed em full strength.

I actually had smaller yields using the coco and stunted the growth during veg causing a longer growth period. But like i said i didn't do it right lol.

It’s fairly soft. Test your run off pH. I bet it’s around 4.x

So the run off was about 5.3, the nutrient mix was phd to 6.3 going in, so should I raise the ph of nutes going in to even it out?
I’ve never checked the run off before I’ve read there is no need in soil and try not to get that much run off as it supposedly can flush out microbes.

There’s no need to check run off unless you have issues. It can give clues as to what’s happening. But it’s not an exact method just an indicator.
