does peat or coco require carbohydrates?AN Bud Candy
The bioherd in peat or coco sure require carbs unless you're running them strictly hydro nutes. I mix organics into my ProMix HP and add some DynoMyco and even some of my unfiltered dugout water to get lots of good bugs working in there. Carbs are for them but I use blackstrap molasses, unpasturized local honey and some dextrose. Little bit of everything. I supplement with the 3-part nutes when I think they need it.does peat or coco require carbohydrates?
You shouldn't have to "feed" your microbes. There is enough coming from the root exudates to keep them healthy. From my experience, adding sugar of any kind often leads to problems. The bioherd in peat or coco sure require carbs unless you're running them strictly hydro nutes. And what problems would those be?You shouldn't have to "feed" your microbes. There is enough coming from the root exudates to keep them healthy. From my experience, adding sugar of any kind often leads to problems.
Having sugar in the root zone? You can't think of any?And what problems would those be?
Haven't seen any problems yet and been doing it for a couple years since switching from DWC to a semi-organic grow using ProMix HP for my base.Having sugar in the root zone? You can't think of any?
Again, plant root exudates are enough for a micro herd to live off of. That's how it works in nature. Unless wild cannabis only grows next to maple trees. If so, this is the first time I've been made aware of it.
Far as I know, coco is essentially inert.does peat or coco require carbohydrates?
Interesting, I’ll have to do some research on this. Any particular reason not to use 2-5ml/gal of grow with this method to keep things green?you should try H3AD's formula for coco sometime. 6 ml micro/ 9 ml bloom/ 1gram epsom per gallon.
it was based off Lucas formula but the grower (grateful head) changed it up and dialed it in at that recipe. alot of coco growers use it is all i know so it must workdFar as I know, coco is essentially inert.

I use Gh flora series and my ph is usually around 5.5 after mixing nutrients. You prolly have really hard water affecting the outcome. I have perfect 7.0 well water but I use RO in my main rooms res and never have any issues other then normal shifts .On my latest grow I've been using GH Flora this time instead of the usual AN Jungle Juice. The guy at the hydro store told me that they're essentially the same with regard to nutrients, but I noticed that the PH seems off. My local water is super clean and has always had a PH of 7. I'm growing in Mother Earth Coco Peat. I'm week 4 in bloom phase using Flora series and AN Bud Candy (Which has worked wonders for my plants in the past).
When I used the Flora series I noticed that my PH drops down to like 4.5, but when I was using AN it was perfect at 5.8 - 6.2 depending on the grow cycle. Anyone else experience a significant swing in PH with GH Flora Series? I never needed to use PH Down before now, but at this point I'm using it every time I feed.
I searched for an answer on any other forums, but couldn't find anything. If you know where this has been addressed before, I'm happy to jump over there and delete this thread to keep the site clean. Thanks in advance.
Awesome I’ll check it out! Sitting in here getting some “sun” on a dreary rainy day as we speak. Ha! Just wrapping up week 4. I’m surprised at how sweet smelling this Blue Dream strain is.it was based off Lucas formula but the grower (grateful head) changed it up and dialed it in at that recipe. alot of coco growers use it is all i know so it must workd
Thanks dude! Spent a lot of time with them. Really happy how there turning out. The tap roots curled when I started them and I thought it might stunt them, but they seem to be coming along nicely. Even if they are a little shorter, they’re making some beautiful frosty colas. I always find it kinda sad to cut them in the end, but I certainly appreciate their sacrifice.Beautiful bonsai!
