Lol. Some go for $500. However anything over $50 should be looked at cautiously. Too many good cuts on Strainly for far less.

My mate sells clones at £5 each, but TBH I can't be arsed and I rather grow my own. Taking clones is where I fail, if I took 10 I'd probably get one to root. I have tried so many different methods. It is why I am glad seeds are so cheap.:D

growing from seed is only really better when trying to grow the biggest plant you can outside or breeding and using the males you pop. You can get huge plants out of clones as I had 10 ft tall plants from clone in 10 gal smart pots. Clones are great I work at a nursery and most our moms are clones we cut off other plants and keep in veg. I wouldn't pay giraffe nuts prices for a clone unless I was going to mom it out and sell a lot of those clones for a pretty penny and flower some myself. Also wouldn't pay that much for a clone to be shipped unless they guarantee money back if plant is dead on arrival lolbongsmilie

Don't see anything there I'd want. People look at those pictures but chances are most will never grow bud that looks like that no matter how much they pay for a clone.

What? Growing from seed is better in every possible way for many growers. I'd rather grow from seed than clone. I don't want to bother keeping mothers and I don't want to grow the same strain every grow. I can grow a pack of regulars, make more seeds, tuck those away, and grow that strain again years later. To do that with clones you have to keep that strain alive for years. Seeds take up little space, don't need watering or maintenance, and last for years if stored correctly.

I guess I'm the opposite and think that clones only make sense for large scale grows where uniformity is needed. I grew the same 2 strains for years keeping mothers and cloning. I'll never do that again. I like growing multiple strains from seed and having a variety of different weed at all times. Smoking the same stuff gets old.

In recent years, clones have gone for tens of thousands and usually required a round trip plane ticket.

Quality clones (clean with provenance) are for people who want to run consistent quality and/or in production or those who just want change things up because they've grown tired of pheno hunting. But be warned - there's a lot grimy fuckers out there that will take advantage of the new grower. Do. Your. Homework.

Right now, the clone game is becoming like the seed game. Oversaturated and shady AF

Stick to trades or just pheno hunt your own keepers.

I would say going clone vs seed would be situational lol. I work at a cannabis nursery so when I want to grow something new I grab clones from work most of the time unless I want to grow something else. Don't get me wrong, having a seed bank to choose from is easier than keeping moms, however it is more cost friendly to properly plan in advance and mom a clone to get the amount of plants I need to fill my tent, rather than buying a bunch of seeds to pop. I normally only keep a mom for a couple months then shes gone and its on to the next strain

Growing from seed produces noticeably "heartier" plants to me. Doesn't mean you can't have tree-trunk clones, but IMO it's more likely with seed grown.

Every seed you pop is the next possible MAC, the possible second coming of Jesus himself if you're fuckin with worthy genetics, but getting that "double negative" pheno is always a diceroll too. Even with the $50 a seed bullshit.

Not everyone works at a nursery where they can see the source of the clones and be sure about them. I don't know how it's anymore cost friendly to grow from clones. Maybe if you're buying seeds for every grow. I haven't bought seeds for a long time. I grow my own seeds. A pack or regs, pollinate a female, and Bam! more seeds. Buy once grow forever.

You don't have to work at a nursery to get a good clone. Also not everyone has space for a male/pollination in their grow area so keeping it all female lowers risk of pollinating your entire crop and possibly your neighbors.

I don't bring other peoples plants into my home. It takes less space to isolate a male than to keep a mother plant. Or you can just cut the male flowers before they drop pollen, put them in some water in another room on a windowsill until they open. I don't have much space and I've been making it work for years.

See I have an answer for everything. :mrgreen:
