A good rule in hydro is to have more than twice the water outside your room than inside.Keep it covered and your good for 4 days.
I’ve been figuring that one out the hard way. I think I need to get a bigger RO then a 50 GPD setup.

something like a top off res into your control res and that would buy a lot of time.

the biggest issue is pH stability over a certain time frame.
I’ve been running spring water the past week now. 2.5 spring to 21.5 RO would let the PH drop .2 everyday started at 6.2. Yesterday I did 5:1 RO:Spring water and it’s been at 6.1 since yesterday. I also did a full 24 grams of epsom. Seems to have stabilized it. Now if it will drop .1 everyday I’ll be happy with that. I also went back on the nutes to 64% recommended strength by AN. LED light was like 9-10 inches away on 450 watts. The top of the buds where the new growth is coming in is completely white and bleached. Weird part is it goes away and get green again after it grows a little. Buds further down away from the light aren’t turning white at all anywhere, they’re staying green. I think I bleached the shit out of the top buds though. Non of the leafs have showed any signs of bleaching tho, fucking wild and blowing my mind trying to figure out if I doomed the top buds.

8 gallon food storage containers with the lids (the 13 gallons create a 50-55 gallon system, i hate res changes now)
3 inch current culture bulkheads
A 1000 gallon per hr pump (doesn't have to be this strong)
And you are good.

Ive always made my own systems but i recently paid 3k for about 10k(retail value) worth of shit and a 12 pod C.C system was one of the things included, I just wanted the dual port AC and 3 RIO 720 Grower choice lights the guy was selling . I haven't used the system yet to compare but the only difference I noticed is the buckets have a drop off in them that allows u to drain that extra 5-10% of water. The plastic is stiffer than the food storage containers but I have never had a leak with them. (last pic shows the drop off). I wouldn't go out and buy the system when I can make one for under 500(850 including a 1/10th chiller). The system doesn't even come with a chiller for that price. Its a simple build, plenty of videos on it

If you use 5 gallon buckets tho I would recommend using two 1inch bulk heads attachments so your first buckets doesn't over flow and so you are at less risk of root blockage

It looks like you caught it early, good catch. (Pause lol)
That’s what I’m hoping, I raised it and they seem to be doing better to since the other day. I have to keep the front door on the tent open for the fan. I had it close but it started hurting the plants, you can tell bc the hairs on the buds started looking fried.

If u can afford go with cc , u cant replicate their drain system and u need to drain as much as u can ( cc tech support told me ) i had 16 gall system. If u want to save buy cc buckets , lids and manifold. And build the rest from pvc. Ull save at least 30-40% but thats lot of work. For drain use 90,t wirh barb ends and use black tube. Most expensive stuff in cc is drain system and air lines. My 16 gall build was like 1400 total including pvc and black tube.

It sucks, but I just shopvac the grow totes. I’m getting at least 90% of the water out. The drain on the bottom is nice though. I’m going to put a 3/4 pvc pipe down on the bottom and 90 it at the top of the tote and just try to shop ax it out that way. Now I have to lift the lid with the plants in it, tangled in two nets. Not the easiest way to get it out, but I make it work.

Facts. I think the only way to replicate their draining system would be to build the system on a rack or some type of stands and put the draining system underneath the buckets
that's how i built mine: up on cinder blocks. and used shower drains on the bottom of the totes.

and the metal grate keeps out hydroton, dead leaves, etc
