Here is a photo of an 8 week old plant from seed. Using r/o with 1 tsp of calmag and 7 grams of maxibloom. I just put all the plants in the house to stay warm. I had lots of issues around week 4 with this plant and just started growing again. I was using water only the first 2 weeks and no calmag

yes it’s 8 weeks and I see how yours grow and I’m having issues and not sure what the heck I’m doing wrong. I always have an issue getting seeds going but after awhile they just take off but nothing
Like I see you doing. Does it look like a mag Defency? I’m willing to try whatever or any suggestions

Starting in small pots will promote faster growth.
I start in 1 ltr pots and transplant to 9 ltr pots after two weeks.
I feed daily to run off starting around the 3rd day from sprout........1/4 tsp. maxibloom, tap water, .5 ml silica.
I use a t5 fixture for the first 3 weeks.
I never use plain water.

get rid of ro water creates issues waste of time, I use to use rain water ( for approx 6 years), works well but issues with calmag and heavy metals from commercial buildings within 30 kms- water was tested and was not good( lead/arsenic just to name a couple),. Tap water - I now fill 6 - 44 gallon drums with tap water and let sit for 3 days to allow chlorine to dissipate . bonus is has cal mag in it and... use it for indoor/outdoor gardens and grow rooms , on a side note- remember we are going a weed, it takes approx 3-4 months seed- harvest, people need to stop trying to re-invent the wheel,all the info to grow is out there and readily available, the worst thing about all this is the dickheads that ask questions and they think they know the answers to and wont listen pushing a narrative there favorite sales rep has spun them - normally dumb arrogant growers that think they know better .... just my views - will go and tie some fishing rigs for tomorrows trip

957 ppm is VERY hard water, no way would I live with that. My last house was 300ppm/.6 EC and the softener was definitely an improvement. It's 650 in this town and I installed a softener before moving in.
I have an RO filter for plants and mix it 50/50 with hard tap water for drinking. With RO I'm not guessing at what's in my feed and my ph is stable, I don't need to keep adding ph down.
BTW, RO isn't recommended for drinking and neither is high TDS. Your refrigerator filter probably doesn't remove dissolved solids, you can check with your TDS meter.

I prefer the consistency of RO.
Especially for the stable PH in my res. Tap may fluctuate, seasonally or otherwise.

I always had to ph correct my RO, but I've noticed it does raise a lot faster with tap. I kind of like how it swings through the nutrient absorption ranges though.

Its often a good idea to cut RO w/ some tap to get some pH buffering ability. RO has none.

I do get some swing over several days. Average around 6.1.
But, using RO does make me use more PH up than my tap.
About 1ml per gallon of ArmorSi takes care of it. Vs. Using PH up.

I will say switching to tap has stopped all of the issues I was having with Jack's and Mega Crop before it. My plants haven't looked this healthy since I took them off of Canna Coco about a year ago. I'm preventing a ton of wastewater and saving a small fortune in filters.
