Can I plant off center in my pot?

I'm onto my second grow and am planning to bend my main stalk 90 degrees to keep it low. Can I plant off center to allow room for low stress training or is this a big no-no for the roots? I'm thinking it might be good to have one side of the roots closer to the side to breath (cloth pot) while the other side can go to the wetter side (center) of my soil. I had big problems first grow with a plastic pot and Fox Farm Ocean Forest, the ocean forest held way too much water and became compacted, even with added perlite....

I'm growing Northern Lights in a 3 gallon cloth pot with Fox farm Happy frog and Ocean Forest mixed. (Happy frog on top, ocean forest on the bottom, or at least that's the plan---Stan).

Thanks much all, I googled this for quite some time and had no luck. Off center she will be...I might go as far as I can as my space is 1.5x1.5 !

When the plant has 7 nodes.. chop in half, only keeping the bottom 3 nodes (6 branches) and tie them down. Wait 2 weeks, and top each branch. Then set some bamboo in there for support and let them veg til they heal and flip the lights to 12/12. Clean up the inside (lowest side branches on each of the “6 branches”) to maintain good airflow. Then you wait 2 months & post a thread asking if it’s time to chop. :bigjoint: Never overfeed. Better to under feed, and supplement a remedy.. than to burn all your leaves to a crisp. Can’t fix that.

Here’s an example only I used only the bottom 2 nodes (4 branches) and I topped in 3 sessions again afterwards. The last session where every branch got topped. 16 tops turned into 32.
this was in a 2.3ft x 2.3ft tent. I have a link to the full journal of the grow Below along with my current stuff.

This is my first grow and the fox farm ocean forest in a plastic bucket was a nightmare. I might get a little smoke out of this I hope. (thinking half an ounce? I really have no idea--I've never trimmed) I topped once, pic included, and again later but I need to pay attention better next time.

This second go around should be much better.. No way I can fit two plants, this barely fit while in veg.

Less than 100 watts of light used (SF-1000) the entire grow and I kept her around 14 inches tall. Being confined in a small space may prove to be an advantage, all my buds are getting good light !

I think I have a week or two to go. I'm still seeing clear trichomes but most are milky. Maybe Santa will amber me up for a Xmas harvest. (day 46 of flower.)10_3.JPG12_15.JPG12_1.JPGIMG_0336.JPGIMG_0336.JPG

I'll give this a shot next time... Thanks.

After this grow I now understand how topping and LST works ( topped after 5 nodes taking the top 3), now I just need to improve my LST pattern a bit... The two topped branches got fat fast and it was too late to bend them much.

You can plant it off center. But what's wrong with the middle?
