Absolutely massive aphid infestation. To organophosphate or not to organophosphate?

I was just looking for unrelated information, and found this document that mentions a few different treatments for aphids.

There is some good information there. Looking at Table 1 I'm covered for just about everything using simple inexpensive ingredients.

Here are the 3 things I use on that list. I've had excellent success in eliminating pests and preventing mold and PM using these 3.

citric acid: bacteria, fungi, mites, insects

potassium silicate: powdery mildew, mites, aphids

sesame oil: mites, leafhoppers, aphids, whiteflies, moth larvae

Do you use powdered or liquid potassium silicate, and is it pH balanced?

Do you use powdered or liquid potassium silicate, and is it pH balanced?

I use Agsil 16H. It's an alkaline with a pH of around 12.7. The high pH is what makes it effective against PM as it raises the pH on the leaves to a level that PM cannot grow on.
