You probably water your plants with dechlorinated unfiltered city water too cause it works and call your pot medicine. I'm sure it has lots of medicine in it alright.

I've found 6500K 54 watt T5's to be the best light for starting seedlings and the first couple weeks of veg.
Old technology but tried and true. Much easier and just as effective as an LED and you don't need to look at a damn chart to know what distance to put the light. 2-3 inches and you're golden. Excellent results as well.

Nothing beats T5 Fluorescent 6500k for VEG. I've grown 6 foot tree mother plants with 8 bulb fixtures.I've found 6500K 54 watt T5's to be the best light for starting seedlings and the first couple weeks of veg.

The screw-in light bulbs are really good for seedling, veg, and flower, I have used them for every stage with very good results

Get the fuck out of Dodge. I mean seriously. Some of us can remember here on RIU when fluorescent lights were the thing with complete grows done under them. The thread still exists. The fixtures are are big and bulky compared to LED, produce less bud and more heat than LED and production sucked against HID.
If they were that great people wouldn't be trying to convince others how great they are in 2021.

The're great for starting seeds and the first couple of weeks but after that it's time to switch lights. They have their place but once the plants are established it's time for more light.
I'll continue to use them for the early stages though.

Nice. I’ve had 10 for around 6 months now I think. I’m not growing my for aesthetics, I’m just keep the genetics. I plan to use a single cut to grow a temporary mother to clone off and then destroy. That way the mother can keep growing for as long as I can manage.
The top picture is of the old ones. The bottom two are of the potentials.

Beautiful! I see some really big mothers on this site, and unless people are taking dozens of cuts at one time it really seems like a waste of space to me...
Have you considered root pruning or is that less of a concern with rockwool and synthetic nutes?

My theory is why not keep like 90 bonsai mothers in the same space as I was keeping 2 to 4 regular sized mothers. This way I'll never have to get rid of older genetics to free up room for something new. I usually run around 24 plants so I'll need to make a temporary mother, but the original mom will never need to get any bigger than it already is. If the OG mother seems to be slowing down or struggling within it's confined space, I'll just clone it and start a new one.
The roots seem fine in the rockwool. I could take off the wrapper and let them air prune completely, but they don't seem to need it. I could also stack them on another rockwool cube. I used to do that with vegging plants that were getting too big, but couldn't be transplanted into their final pots yet. I've had huge mothers and cut the rootballs to transplant them into smaller pots, but that was in coco.

54 watts, 80 CRI, 5000 lumen. 6500k, no good for flowering.
