Over water seems to be the consensus and I agree with it. You can't just water however much you feel like watering. The plants like balance and consistency.
Good rule of thumb....
In living soil, use 5% water to soil volume when small, up to 10% when they get bigger.
If watering in nutes, water to 20% runoff.
In both cases, wait until the pot gets light before watering again. Keep track of the time between watering the containers, and when they're dry enough to water again. Stick to that schedule as best you can.
