I prefer regs, but I like to keep fems on hand as "space fillers" to replace any males that appear. . .. for now.

I hope to try F2'ing something this year, or S1'ing something that's not offered as fem.

As far as autos. . ..not a huge fan, but I'm gona try a couple more. I just don't see the point of running my lights for 18 hrs/day, to ultimately get a lesser yield than running photos 11 hrs/day. Only shorter grow overall by 1 to about 5 weeks, that's it. Big whoop.

On the matter of clones, I just checked the two candidates that I was going to VEG and, so far, they are responding well to the vents fully opened! In a few weeks I'll have me some "wide bottomed plus sized" plants.

69.4% for fems now - but a little surprised to regular seeds at 24.5%.

I thought that feminized would be more like 80% with regulars & autos about 10% each.

I think they all have there place autos and semi autos for outside in shit climates fems for first timers or if your using a s1 to lock down a trait say the mother dont pass on but you find a s1 that does for example but of course regs are the best imo but where i stay (uk) its pretty much 80% fems only old school dudes or pollen chuckers seem to run regs i think to many people are scared of sexing for some bizzare reason

Not until 3 or 4 years ago did I start to like fem seeds. Use to swear by only regular seeds but can't tell a difference in growth so I accepted the easier route. I use half the starting materials soil/rockwool/coco etc. now as well since I don't have to start twice as many seeds.

I am fairly new to growing on my own. Is there any real difference between fem and regular besides the % of females present? I have read a whole lot about stress sensitivity, hardyness, and yield being slightly different, but in the same light Ive read people saying the flush is the most important step (lmao)

I am going to pop my first regular seeds this year either way, but I would love to hear everyones take. If someone has links to the actual science, that would be dope!

Just ran a batch of Autos, freebies, came out ok,
Then started a batch of Cookies & Cream regulars, got 10 out of 14 females, gave 5 to my buddy, he killed all of them, but my 5 are in the 7th week of flower., got three distinct pheno's.
Here are my 5 at day 47 of flower.
