Is that when you plant to piss on them?
I’m planning to give my plants next Saturday, when they are in week 2 of flower, some organic bananas as special threat!

Week 3: 500 ml of compost tea.
Week 4: some bananas
Week 6: 500 ml of compost tea.
Week 7: some bananas
Week 8: 500 ml of compost tea.
Week 9: Harvest

I know what mainlining is... It's a fancy term for people who wish to make themselves feel better about the small space they grow in.

I call it "Optimism".

It still does not satisfy my concern about hermaphroditing from over stressing a plant through leaf stripping and over pruning and the point being is that you spend all this time caring and growing a plant....

only to have it hermie at the end, I mean if it works and you end up with a few nice Kolas at the end, great.... I personally kind of like a sure thing.

And no, "mainlining" is not the "best" way to train cannabis. It's just ONE way when given certain conditions that make that technique beneficial.

If you ever have the opportunity and space, try your mainline technique of bending over a plant on it's side, without trimming or cutting. SCROG will provide much higher yields than mainlining will.
mainlining is a quick clean way to harvest colas, all the buds are high quality, you want the shortest distance from the roots to the buds,

"If it was the "best way", cannabis would already grow that way NATURALLY."
So untrained plants are the best way to flower plants off
I know, "bending over a plant on its side would give me better results":confused::confused:
maybe you're too stoned but your not making any sense.

Most of my training is done in flower, turned my plants over to flower at 6" tall/wide.

The OP is going to get a good crop for the time his plants will spend in veg and flower.

If you only have 9 weeks, you are in trouble. Do as little as you can to stunt growth, and maybe it'll be ready in 9
I would hold off on any defoliating till there is enough leaf mass to support flowering growth, and if its terribly leafy, open things up later on. Just take care to not overdue it and slow bud growth down

Not intending to be a Nay Sayer but can you explain how "A canopy full of tall dense colas" maximizes "Quality"?
According to scientific information I've read, quality is determined by environment and genetics.

I'm always willing to learn - have I misses something?
I would rather said grower than environment… but genetics is numberone thats for sure

To be on the same page: my comment was about Scrogging vs Mainline

Admitting you are talking shit is a good start !

Scrogging helps to spread the plant out, however, it can limit the canopy depth. In a scrog, the plant is held at the height of the screen as it spreads out. In contrast, mainline grow up and out at the same time.

This produces a broad even canopy with good depth to each cola. A canopy full of tall dense colas is the best way to maximize the quality and the quantity of the harvest.

When you remove all the suckers(smaller shoots), it gives the larger shoots more airflow, light and the roots can give the shoots left more water/food.
If you have 100 shoots, no airflow, or light getting deep in the canopy, this will often lead to airy buds (reducing the bud quality).

Your opening post asks about time, because you need to move.
We tell you you won't have enough time to finish.
You admit to being a newb.
You watched a YouTube video or 2 and are trying to copy it.
You proceed to tell all the members here with decades of growing completed, we are all wrong and "just wait."
You think giving your plants a "special treat" once a week is going to do some magic.
You bold "big fat colas" in every reply, I guess you think if you emphasize it enough you can "manifest" it into being right?

I veg'd my plants for 3.5 weeks and going to flower them off for 8 weeks and I will end up with large colas, I have been growing for decades

Guess you think I am speaking crap too, can't you let him say what he wants about his plants, there not yours?
don't understand why you care, feels like he's being pushed, and he snaps once in a while.

Mainline is a techniques to grow plants with eight main colas rather than one. The techniques involves strategically topping the plant multiple times to produce a symmetrical structure.

Mainlines are possibly the best ways to train cannabis plants. The benefits include symmetrical colas, excellent lateral branching, and an efficient plant structure.

Mainlining is easy to accomplish even for new growers. You need plants that are growing well, courage and trust, but it requires no special skills.
Your plants look great, I would pull the shoots down an inch every other day but keep the shoots facing the light, I use a pair of nose pliers, hold the wire, and do a half turn (little and often the best way, this will keep the stress to a minimal.

Did a little sleuthing on that “ product “ …. Has pic of banana ( wtf ? ) but has loose MSDS components listed. It contains Nothing Special as with other available products with molasses , fish , kelp and humic . No description of NPK sources - why not list it if “ organic “.

It is along same lines as Kelloggs fish / kelp organic fert but at a far more cheaper price than a bottle showing an erect Dicknana .

Kelloggs is some good shit and personally use it.
But using stupid erect bananas - hell no.

Save your dollars - say no to Erect Bananas
