what's the night temps/humidity? (lights off) bud rot will only hit your plants when the lights are off (lower temps, higher humidity)
I guess I don't remember what the night RH was when I had the bud rot problem. It was a very humid summer. And my house and a/c are fairly old. I believe the Rh ranged from 40-65% tho

Unlucky xrdamianxr, normally it takes really high humidity to cause bud root all over the plant.

Look at all the plants grown outside.
I totally agree. After the research I did.. I'm assuming the fungal spore already exist dormant somewhere in my house or I picked it up from an unknown source. And my humidity aloud it to thrive??? Hahaha. Only thing I could think of.
I started growing in july 2020(would have been vegging). Multiple harvest until may 2021 when the humidity and mold hit. I then stopped until just 3 months ago.

Hmm. I do have a vent right outside the closet so I'm assuming the duct work runs right close to it. I'll have to keep that in mind before summer time. Tho as of now my house I pumping heat.(12F out today. 30mph wind)
what May help also if it’s in a closet in a bedroom during winter close vent for bedroom and crack a window open. In summer run lights off during hottest part of day

2x4 closet grow. 4" infinity exhaust with filter. Passive intake. Multiple fans moving air. Had 150w mars and 100w Spider. Temps were 81F at highest
New light. 400w updaday. Dimmed to 50% and my temps are at 86 already...
Do I add a intake fan to push New air in?
Upgrade my exhaust to 6"?
Both?
Lol. Thanks for any input. Hope I gave enough info
Chubby Checker or 2 pac?

It's sadly the room I sleep in but I did partial of these
Added ducting to my intake leading from my window wich is very drafty. And added a deflector over my heat vent

You all have so many ideas. This is definitely the place to come with questions. Thanks a ton already

Well I'm happy to say with all the advise I think I got it whipped.
-added active intake ( I can't make larger passive holes)
-arranged 3 x 6" fans inside to move the heat more effectively
-replaced a noticeably dirty pre filter for the exhaust
-made and added a deflector for my heat vent outside the grow space
Been 3 days and no higher than 86F. Still waiting on my thermo gun to check LST.

Nice!! Glad you got it worked out. The summer my heat went up to 95. Added an intake and brought it to 89ish. I bought an air conditioner so I'll add that and use the intake to feed the cold air in. Let me know if you find any other way to lower heat :P ..

Im struggling with this same problem and seem to be heading down your same solutions. Glad you figured it out and i hope i get there soon.
I added the active intake 2 days ago, its helped a bit, but i have 4 lights in a 4x8. (Mars Hydro TSP2000) and i dont think the fresh cool air is being spread on the lights that well. Planning on getting 3-4 small fans, attaching them to a shelf board, and laying that across the top of my PVC trellis support. Might have to rearrange some carbon filters to improve airflow im sure.

Humidifier is coming tomorrow to help with how dry it is now. Have you managed to keep your humidity up and stable?

Good, I'm glad to see that you might have this sorted. I came across it a bit late, but my first response was "airflow". Depending on the season of the year I dial my airflow for a total air exchange every 1 - 5 minutes depending on humidity and temps. This is a passive makeup air set-up using room temp intake and exhausting outside. Good luck.

ps. you'll love the bigger lamp.

How are you measuring airflow? ;-)

Tbh. I havnt touched my humidity levels yet. That damn bud rot from last year has me so scared to add any moisture. Also have my exhaust running full blast during the day so idk how much difference a humidifier would help or if the exhaust would just suck it all away. Been debating buying a timer of some sort to automate the exhaust vs humidifier.

Thats fair. I just transplanted from clone so im trying to get them to a pretty high humidity for veg.

Im running the AC Infinity line of fans & controllers. Its a nice way to automate exhaust/Intake based on temp & humidity. Smidge pricey though.

They also have really basic outlets that are controlled based on a temp or humidity sensor.
