What size grow tent for what # of plants?

You can see the huge benefit of having close reflective walls around your grow if you play around with a light meter. Tents are simply an easy way to do it and they allow a person to contain their grow within their living space, rather than dedicate a room to it-they can filter the intakes and vent through a carbon filter if they so choose. Tents can make a world of difference in keeping pet hair off of your grow too. Once I have a dedicated grow room, I can do all of those things on a bigger scale, but until then, I loves me my tents.

Oh I get it , I know there are dictating circumstances. Can't beat a dedicated grow room though.....long waist high benches....plants spaced appropriately makes it easy to inspect and shape. Great if you can swing it. Are all the tents foil lined......I'm curious because the color white is a better reflector.....?

It all depends on how you're growing. Some people will veg one plant long enough to fill a scrog in a 4x4. You could also do a SOG with a bunch of plants.

1 plants, 2 plants, 3 plants, 4 plants, etc... depending on how long you veg and style of grow.

So to answer your question there is no correct answer to number of plants as it's going to depend on you're style of growing.

Hell if it wasn't for plant count I'd do 36 plants in small pots like this in a 4x4 on a capillary mat. I'd really like to try it too as I've pulled an ounce off of plants like this. I think SOG is the quickest and highest yielding style of growing indoors. Small plants, short veg, and lots of them. Gotta have the right strain for it to work though. But a 2 week veg from seed and then into the flower tent would yield damn good with enough plants.

One nice thing about tents is the hanging options. I'd probably still use their frames if I were growing in an open room in my situation because I can't really hang anything off of the ceiling.

The main benefit of tents is keeping your security deposit if you’re a renter. You set up a room and you’ve gotta tear up carpet cut holes in the wall, drill holes in the ceiling, block off any outside light, might need to paint too. A tent you just put it together and hang your lights, fans etc and it’s ready to go.

Then there’s the benefit of being able to run multiple light cycles in one room. I’m about to put a 5x5 in a room I’ve already got 2 4x4s in.

Seriously , do you really need a tent ? Seems like everyone is growing in tents. I've been growing a very long time , never needed a tent.

Grow tents let you more easily control the environment. A lot easier to raise/lower temp and humidity in a 4x4 grow tent than it is a 12x12 room. Don't have to do any modifications to your walls, windows, or paint. Easier to control the smell in a smaller contained space. Can be disassembled and the room can be made functional very quickly.

Tents are not lined with foil, they are lined with Mylar.

I had one of those fake walls going when my kids were little....they were very surprised , when they got older to find a nice big room in there. I can't imagine banging around inside of tent when working on plants. ...but I understand that it is a necessity for some people.

Just wondering how big the grow tent should be for a given number of plants. I am certain I wouldn't want to grow more than 12, and probably less than that... but idk really.

Is it particularly advantageous to get one especially big so you can walk around in there with the plants?

Are grow tents typically easy to disassemble and pack up so you can move them out of a house if you need to?

I'm gonna agree with the posters who told you 1 plant per 4 sq feet.
That would be 2 plants in a 2x4, or 4 in a 4x4.
Don't make it harder on yourself than you need to. Especially for a newb.
You start crowding plants together you will have more bullshit to deal with.

i allready miss my large 5x16 room, the 4x4 tent is definetly a downgrade.

What I have noticed though is, with the tents reflectivity it seems like I can get away with 10% less light than before.

This is what I'm afraid of when I make the plunge. Always have had all of the space. But in all reality, I only grow 1-2 at a time.
