Loam means clay, sand on its own doesn't make loam soil. Peat is airy enough and many mixes use sand but no clay which are not called loamy.

You just need a normal indoor soil suitable for growing in the rest is environment. The right environment you won't get overwateting, too cold and your prone to it. Start in a small pot and repot which helps with watering and drainage.

It's dead easy once you get if right. Imagine out doors in small pots or starter cubes summer you would be watering almost daily but in tents indoors we can end up thinking we have a great environment but be watering every four to five days which is a big difference in soil and air temperatures.

Get a fluid wet and dry system going, water then wait till it needs more, babysitting plants with misters isn't the recommended way. That's how soil works, it rains, that dries out then it rains again it doesn't stay wet for long.

Okay so basically don’t do it lol got it ! I’m just scared if I put it in dirt it will die(don’t ask why)

Look up some recipes for recommended soil mixes, great ones out there for everything from pure organic to the only-place-to-buy-a-shovel-is-Walmart-within-300-miles. I been experimenting, you can’t go “wrong” if you avoid the “do not”s.

Personally I was stubborn (still am), took me a little while longer than most stoners to embrace perlite-Jesus. Only most recipies recommend adding 20-40% perlite to most mixes (even if you start with a base that has a bit of perlite), and I-be-damned the plants love it in all its aerated draining super perlite-ey goodness.

No loss or plant suffering, but ya, that was stupidish of me. Literally, most recipes.

Like, 6 months ago, sphagm seemed like it couldn’t hurt to me… and it doesn’t, but I haven’t touched it since trying without. It has its place and utility for sure.

It’s in a pretty warm dry place so should dry out pretty good

I appreciate your response, but I didn't say only sand. I said "sandy". Peat is a fine medium for growing plants, although it is known for compacting over time and not holding good structure. That's why it should have other things added to build up the structure.

Not fully dry, the surface should dry as an indication but most use weight by lifting the pot to feel it's lost the bulk of the water. Gets easy with practice.

Peat will do just as well without amendment for short term crops like this. Many use it with no problems. Ask yourself why you can't?

If I wash my peat soil I get lots of sand and most bagged soils are already ammended in one or a few ways why it's packaged as the finished product.

As roots develop and fill out the pot it will get more regular and eventually you will repot when it starts getting almost daily.

All these things take some practice, an experienced grower will simply be able to tell quickly.

She is growing well so far so good ! The root is already popping out the bottom just a little

And when peoplesay it won’t grow in certain soil. They mean it won’t grow at its ceiling. Soil can hold back big time. I hope you actually learn from this. Ph, moisture control, and nutrition levels are very important compared to your house plants.

Im going to get this soil for when it’s ready to be repotted out the small pot, just because they don’t have any of the soils you listed at lowes at the one near me or anywhere else 20 miles from me. I think it will work out well it has all the things in it that everyone has been talking about.
