Organic nutes - to flush or not to flush ?

Hey guys forum noob here.

Been growing a couple of skunks on minimal homemade organic nutes (coffee grounds, eggshells, manure, banana peel tea etc..) in potted soil. I'm about 6 weeks into flowering and already seeing some amber trichs, which I would like kept at a minimum. I was hoping to flush them and wait 10-14 days as recommended but I'm concerned more trichs may develop a tan during that interval. I know the flushing thing is much debated so I was wondering is it necessary even when using organic nutes or can I go ahead and harvest ?

I wouldn’t worry about flushing, especially using Organics. Just keep doing your thing until harvest and you’ll have some awesome bud

Nothing will be improved by flushing an organic mix. You can fade the leaves out doing that but it wont improve the results.

Time will continue to change the color of the trichs, harvest when you want.

Have you ever tasted the sxxx that mushrooms are grown in? There is your answer!

Nice to hear they are looking frosty.
If you want to step away from using manure you could try veganics which is using nutrients that comes from plants only, kyle kushman grows like this and says the flavor is improved over regular organics.

Of course they are, worms obviously grow on plants

I'll have to look into that. Currently aiming for as little chemical interference as possible

Interesting question. I use mostly vegan inputs, but I do use worms, and castings, and I don't flush. I wonder if I've been doing it wrong? Lol

While we're on the subject of harvesting, I was thinking if it was possible of clipping off the main colas since there's where I'm detecting most of the amber, while leaving the lower bud sites to mature a tad longer. Is this common practice and does it even work ?

Everyone has a preference here is mine - I never flush because I never use chemical fertilizer.

I do find the best smoke - if I can time it right - let the plant fade to harvest. Meaning the sugar leaves will use up all the mobile nutrients the last two weeks of flower. I never use dry organics with 4 weeks left in flower - Organic liquids only. Dry takes longer to break down in the soil.

Faded leaves at harvest is bro-science. The only thing you are doing is robbing the plant of the nutrients it needs to finish properly.
