First time indoor grow - buying my light

Hi, i'm getting set up for my first indoor grow, done a couple outside with average results but the weather pretty much screwed me this year

and about to order my stuff, most coming from local suppliers except the light, I'm considering going through alibaba as the the cost for anything decent where I live {NZ) is stupid, I like the look of this as the brand is mentioned in a lot of videos I have watched but is not available here. Just wondering if anyone has bought anything similar?

Preferably only wanting to spend $1000nzd (~$670) inc shipping to avoid duties etc,

Going to be doing 4x in 30L fabric pots (or should I go bigger or smaller?) In coco/perlite 70/30

On your light I would want around 650 actually watts but depends on what grow space your growing in

Definitely won't need pots that big. These autos were grown in 2.5 gal pots of Coco fed once a day.


Basically filled a 2x4 each. That's the benefit of Coco. No need for large pots of medium.

Only reason I’m using a 5x5 is it was given to me, and the lights I was given are 1000w hps which I’m not using due to the cost of power, I’ve got 4 seeds 3 bcn critical xl and 1 gorrila glue all autos, will get photos next time but was initially doing an outdoor grow, not this grow but probably the next I was looking at adding c02 so I thought going for 1000w would be the way to go (just future proofing for a bit extra), I’m leaning towards the bar style of lights just for easier transport when I move but I am open to quantum boards, am I right in thinking that I can just dim the light to 850w?

as for my ventilation I was looking at a 8” ac infinity fan (is that the right size?)

Says you I've grown plants in 20 gallon or 75 liter pots of coco pulling over 20 ounces a plant. All you THIS WAY OR THE HIGHWAY dudes need to CHell Brahhh.
