Aphids how to prevent

Hey guys, so we’re coming up to that time of year again. I live in a rural area and we get so many aphids on all of the garden plants, everytime I plant weed plants they get covered in them too.

What can I do to prevent them?

Control you ant population with a borax sugar mix. This will help I also plant a Blue Ridge bean as a trap plant they will love the soft stalk and leave your other plants alone for the most part when you see them on the stalk smash wait a couple days then smash again, they love the bean stalk.

You with them or just a satisfied customer. I used that on a fruit tree, peach to be specific but I found some things went under tape. Why do they use it

From my observations Wasps if theres plenty of them around you wont see many aphids also dont have many ants around cos they farm them and some kinds of mealybugs kinda like cattle and will move them onto your plants like a farmer moves his cattle to other pastures in essence and you dont want that

Tanglefoot does not directly affect the aphids. No aphids will even come in contact with the tanglefoot.
What the tanglefoot does is prevent the ants that protect the aphids from moving up and down the stem.

In a couple of days after application, most of the unprotected aphids are consumed by the many predators in the insect world.

If you don't like looking at the aphids after applying tanglefoot use a hose to wash off the aphids.
The aphids can't fly, can barely walk. Without the ants they are helpless.

I've been using Tanglefoot to deal with aphids for about 20 years. It is messy but it works.

How are you guys using beneficial insects outdoors? Op asked about prevention but wouldn’t you need to already have a significant problem for the beneficials to stick around

I have used beneficial insects outside in flower only, spray in veg. not sure they are worth the money I plant some trap plants and control ants. Check by hand watch the leaves know what you're looking for. If you have mites at any time veg or flower chop and discard. Predatory mites in early flower for preventative.
