High All ! I've been growing for a while now. Probably close to 5 years. This is actually my 14th grow & I'm hoping to up my grow game with advice from some of you pros out there. I feel like I reached a dead end on the site I was on & there's no way to advance there. They just keep repeating the same old Blah, Blah. So here I am trying out a new forum with hopes of learning new things.
The strains I'm growing are "Aurora Indica" which is a Souvenir Strain from Nirvana Seeds, "White Widow" from Seedsman, "OG Kush" from ILGM & a "Pop Tarts" seed from out of dispensary weed.
I actually started this grow on 1-31-22. All 4 broke ground on 2-3-22 so they are 17 days old; but we'll get to that later.
I grow in a 4'x8' tent but only use 4'x4' of it for growing. I keep my Humidifier, Dehumidifier & AC on the other side to use as needed.
I use different lighting throughout my grow. I start with a Spider Farmer SF-1000 for Germinating.
I start out in Double Solo Cups so I can check the root growth. Well, I decided to try a Soldering Iron to make the Drain Holes in the Clear Cups.
I thought it looked great until this happened.
Because the roots were growing out the bottom of the cups I had to up-pot early. So they are all in 1 gal pots at the moment. I didn't think 4 - 1 gal. pots under the SF-1000 was sufficient so I moved them under a Mars Hydro TSL2000 (300 Watt). I'm running the light at about 35 - 40% at about 12" from canopy. This gives me 11,000 Lux. I will be upping the brightness & raising the light a little real soon.
Above pic was taken on the 13th at 10 days old. They've grown a little in the past 7 days. I'll post new pics tomorrow of where they are now. Just trying to bring things up to date.
My temps & RH have been doing great so far. Haven't had to use AC at all. Temp is staying 77 - 79F & RH is 60 - 70%. I am running my 6 gal. humidifier on low during lights on only. Tent would be dripping if I ran it during lights out.
Anyway, I'm in the process of trying to learn Hydro Buddy Nutrient Calculations. If there's anyone knowledgeable on this site that knows how to do this I can sure use the help. I have all the calculations already. They were given to me by another grower. But I want to find out how he came up with these calculations.... so I'm learning it. Hopefully @Skybound420 pops in. He was on the other site I was on but haven't seen him there lately.
So here are the nutes I use: Mega Crop 9-6-17, Natures Nectar Nitrogen 5-0-0 & Alchemist Stout MSA (Si). I grow in 5 parts FFOF to 1 part Perlite for better drainage.
On the site I came from most will say there is no need to pH your nutes if growing in soil. Don't know how true that is.... but I pH every time to 6.3. It's the way I learned & it works for me. I'd rather count on me then the buffers in the soil. I use a Blue Lab to pH for accuracy.
Buying the Blue Lab ppm meter on payday so I can be more accurate in my nute calculations.
I guess this is a quick review of where things are up till now. I'll get into how much of each thing I'm adding to my calculations when I update this tomorrow. They got their 1st feed on 2-17-22 of MC Equivalent.
