Heaters

Before buying anything have you tested with your lights on?

More often than not fan controllers will help to slow the extraction down so that you aren’t exhausting all your heat then a simple green house heater for raising the temps during the dark cycle is more often enough for most people, myself included.

unless of course you live somewhere that regularly has cold/freezing weather and you’ve chosen to grow in a garage or out building etc that doesn’t have access to your homes heating/cooling.

Try and stay away from "element" heaters. Get yourself an oil filled radiant heater. I got mine at Menards on sale for $39.95 and it's working great keeping the temps where they need to be.

AC Infinity - it will turn on and off based on settings you make, just order the one with the "controller" vs the push button speed remote.

I had controller 67. I returned it waiting on controller 69 with wifi. I picked up the inkbird temp controller. Tested with my element heater and it's working flawlessly. Have to adjust the cycle times. I set it to stay at 82 with a low of 75 and a high of 90. Building a deflector out of a steel plate or calcium silicate insulation boards. This way it keeps the air from going directly to the plant.

I'm playing with the tent setup now. My RH went up to 35-40%. I didn't install an oscillating fan yet.

Careful with the inkbird controller they are only rated for 1200w and I agree oil filled heater is best. It won’t remove humidity from your air.

This heater is by Newair first pic shows a view from above which shows how slim it is. It’s oil filled and connected to a thermostat controller. Keeps the tent above 74F at all times. Lights on I’m only getting as high as 78-79F. Lights at 25% of 480w max output. It ran me like 50 bucks on eBay, worth it tho. I’ve had it for 4 runs now. 0A3016AA-091E-40F1-B323-E1B2E11F69A4.jpeg583E8E1F-D4E6-4777-83C4-087FDD08255D.jpeg

Buying one today. I need to look at wattage for my inkbird. My element heater was much less than 1200w. I didn't like the cycling. My seeds popped 2 days ago. I need to get them in soil today.

I use a cheap 500w oil filled radiator for the dark period. I set it to 50% and it automatically switches on when the lights switch off and off again when they come on. I also have a 80w tube heater for when the lights are on, it only comes on when the temp hits 23c. I like to keep the temps at 26c with the lights on and 18c when off.

Ive just started using the hyper fan controller, it keeps the room at my set temps 22c night and 28c day, it adjusts both intake and outtake fans to manage the temps, it has 2 thermometers one goes in the intake the other at the canopy and a light sensor so it knows what cycle its in, I run at night so unless the outside temps are extreme the controller does a great job keeping the room very stable, I used to run an oil heater but so far I haven't had to that's a good chunk of power I can use elsewhere.

I'd snip those lower branches off, they aren't going to ever reach the top of the canopy.

Do you have links to your heater and controllers? I need to add humidity. I threw in a vaporizer for now. Debating if I'll go with a inkbird and a smaller humidifier or a unit with a digital controller.

Seed went into soil last night. Bottom 1/3 of the cup was FFOF, 2nd 1/3 was 25% FFOF and 75% promix, top 1/3 100% promix. Bag placed over cups. AC Infinity light set to 60%. 2 feet above the cups. Picking up a humidifier today. Humidity is low at 30%. Heat staying at 78 to 81. Fan on inside. Exhaust on 1. Installing oil filled heater today.

Need ph down. Distilled and water left for 2 days had a ph in the 7s. I'm on a well. Ppm at 110. I have a whole house filter. How often do I water for now? I gave each cup a shot glass of water. I also put root enhancer in the hole with the sprotted seed.

This is work. Keeping a clipboard. What to document everything I put in the soil as well as the environment q12 hours.

See the bucket there.. bottom center.. it has water with a rag dipped in it & draping over the edge. Water wicks up and will literally transfer from one container to another. I let mine drop in a tray. Helps raise humidity til you get a humidifier if you end up needing one. 21208B67-F9FE-4DFB-94DD-C568835A738D.jpeg
