No, just top and defoliate.......... haven't had this issue for a while but it won't happen again, for sure. I've been defoliating VERY heavily my last 6 LED crops, this one I wanted to leave alone so I could compare my final weights. It actually got a bit taller than expected, that's actually what caused these issues. But the crop is very healthy and well on it's way to becoming another winner.

Sounds delicious, I gotta get me some grandas cookies, or really almost any ethos in my tent eventually, looks and sounds tasty.
I've experimented with a bit of defoliation on my current grow it definitely keeps things more manageable, I do less than most seem to though.
Looking great, can't wait to see the harvest!

This is going to be a monster yield room.......easily over 100 oz, maybe 105+. My highest was 108, from Irie Seed "Orange Gasm." Still a long ways to go, and I'll let them go long to squeeze out every bit of yield out of them. Pic from today.......... I'm still resisting removing any leaves but I'm thinking it's time for some of the largest ones to go, so more light can penetrate downward.

And that's just the right side of the room with the bushier pheno........ the taller pheno is on the other side. Normally when I defoliated, all the buds stood out more. With all the leaves remaining, it's hard to get a true feeling of what's really in there. As time progresses, I'll slowly remove more leaves, and everything will stand out more.
So, let’s review. 6 different strains grown under these Gavita’s, and I’m averaging 103 oz a crop in this room. All 6 crops were very heavily toppped and defoliated. This crop I did not top or defoliate heavily, just some of the biggest sunleaves to open things up a bit. I’m switched over to the 1-4-5 bloom fertilizer now, so the buds should really thicken these next 2 weeks. Very healthy other than an occasional yellowing leaf here and there.
Well, it wasn't a good day. I checked the room about 4PM, the taller side plants were leaning wayyyyy over. Most likely they were too dry and couldn't support the buds. So I ended up pulling all the plants on that side out of the room, staked each plant, watered and then cleaned everything up before putting them all back in again. I'll take a pic in a day or two after they adjust to their new neighbors.
Bottom line though is, top and defoliate each and every strain. This was an experiment and although the plants looks great, shorter plants with less leaf remains the best way to proceed for yield, ease and simplicity.

It'll be interesting to see if they finish sooner. Can't help but think it would be from not defoliating.. tho it sounds like in your case the extra week or 2 caused by defoliating would be worth not dealing with falling buds and watering around bushes. Can't wait to find out
those tops are really swelling up!!

First things first.. your plants are gorgeous! I need to back track & check out your other journals.
but I might have stumbled across something that can help you, and your back. I am in the same jam.. younger.. and still looking to cut corners in this department.
I’ve seen (lord knows where. It’s been quite some time) a grower use a pvc system to feed a similar space. He had pvc pipes running to each plant in the back. They basically poured the water into a funnel going into the pipe & the pipe led to the pots. Moving it when pouring to control the flow. Fully removable to clean up. When it’s removed he just let it hit the floor & pulled it out between the pots on the floor so not to touch the plants with the wet pipe end. Hopefully it can help in the future. I already want to rig something similar in my 4x4 since It only opens up on one side. Once the trellis is in there it’s over for my back
Peace & happy growin.Ethos claims they'll finish up at 9 weeks give or take......... I always seem to go to 10 weeks with Ethos stuff, but not sure I'll need more than 9 or 9.5 tops with these. Many of the buds pistils have dried up already, and things are swelling nicely. And yes, I made a mistake not topping and defoliating these. Ethos claimed they don't put off much leaf......LOL Uh, they better rethink that. So that drove me to leave them alone. These last few weeks I'll start removing some of the larger leaves left, to allow some light down below. Much of the lower stuff on the taller side is wispy and won't yield much.
I'm starting to think I wasn't watering enough and that led to the lean......it wasn't anywhere as bad as I thought it might be. Still though, it's always good to clean and stake things as the weight begins to build on the plants.

Life here is a bit rough at the moment, major flooding everywhere and just a crap season for outdoor. Family's safe and well though which is the main thing.
I hope you're good mate!
They could do with spreading out a little... very close together
