Weird Cotyeldon

Hey all, this is my first grow with some very old seeds I kept. I transplanted from peat pellet, into a 1 gal pot under 100w light after breaking soil. The cotyledon leaves are growing and the first set of true leaves are showing, but one cotyledon leaf hasn’t opened and is blocking the other true leaf from growing and receiving light. I’m not quite sure what to do at this point , any help, pointers or tips ?

Mist it wet, it could be the mucilage/testa/inner thin seed coat has glued the cotyledon at the main shoot axis

Sounds good i’ll do that. I’ve stuck to misting so far as I don’t want to overwater. Is it better to do a mist right before lights out, or give an ample amount of time with light on after misting.

that is a really big pot for such a small plant. ide start there..
Do you think I should move it back under the humidity dome? I’ve read it’s okay to germinate in the pot you choose to use throughout the grow, as long as watering amount is in control. I decided to start with a 1 gal and move it to a 5 gal if all goes well. I am a new grower, so that could definitely be an issue

Dude leave it in the pot you have it In a one gallon is good enough for now usually solo cups will do u til transplant ..just don’t water the whole pot completely maybe a shot glass or three will do the trick for a couple of days rn you want to focus on that plant creating a rootball before expanding and exploring that pot

to much love can be a bad thing just let her grow I’d say wait at least a week before watering the pot looks to be plenty watered for a seedling

I would drop a few drops on it and look closely if you see a thin skin mentioned by Cassiopeia u can ever so gently with a toothpick try to aide it by just sticking in-between the leave and skin.

Okay for sure, I’ve ordered a couple seeds and will leave them in a solo cup for the next run. I appreciate the advice. I’ve been trying to be mindful about watering, and have stuck to a spray bottle for now, i’ll leave her (hopefully) alone to dry for a little before I hit with another water. It’s so hard not to overlove, I can’t wait. I’m gonna leave them alone for a couple days for them to do their thing. Thanks !

Noted, thank you ! I’ll do that and see if there’s possibility of opening it up a slight bit

the top not the soil, could be that the inner seed "skin" needs to get loose, if it doesnt open after you kept it moist for a few hours just stop it again
Okay I got you, I’ll do this and see if it’s something I might be able to aide or let it sit and do it’s thing
