Seedlings have weak stems, the water very well could have moved the soil back on top of it. Have to be very gentle with the babies. Helps to get some plastic syringes of different sizes-that way you can dribble out water around the seedling without drowning it-I got a big back of 3-4 sized of syringes from Amazon a few years ago and it's still half full. I use one of them just for measuring Neem oil, one just for watering babies (to keep it sterile), one for seaweed/fulvic, etc. Prevents cross contamination. Give it time, the plant may emerge again, or not, it's survival of the fittest!

It took me yrs to figure out the cross contamination from dosing syringes. Thank good my wife is a veterinarian and just takes shit from the clinic. 60ml is ideal for a tight fit into the mouth of the bottle. You can tip a qt upside down and fill the syringe. No leaks either or foam to give a bad reading.
