those damn spider mites I had had to be like little specs on the web so small I might be able to tell they are red and if I stare long enough I realize they are moving so they are something alive. they live in the tops 4 cms of soil they very much roam on the surface of the soil and they eat larvae so you know its basic math that they will eat thrip larvae on regular basis but in these situations the actual predator count versus the pest count would also matter probably, if you have an infestation and too little predator count its possible to not see much benefits but my pots and compost is swarming with them i dont see any larva living through this to make it into an adult."They only eat decaying organic matter and insects"
I'm talking from experience not google, hypoaspis mites are useless for controlling thrips.
Of course they'll bump into each other on occasion but that's no good for pest control.
