Bury your watering tubes and inch or 2 and the top will be algae free.

Are you not familiar with capillary action?

The water does wick up the perlite I'm taking from experience, perlite will/does wick up water for at least a foot.

I've been using air pots for years and love them.
I start in 1 ltr air pots and transplant at two weeks from sprout to a 2.4 gallon air pot.
I suggest covering them with pantyhose to deter fungus gnats.

I use the largest and cheapest queen size at walmart.

I use the branded airpots i like em vs fabric ones or normal traditional ones myself they are good

Yup perlite or stone draws the water to it think about how you do drainage trenches with plastic pipes full of holes and surrounded by stone same idea just lets the plant draw it up instead of away like in trenches
