The RH increase is likely if you top water. For example with my bed. I have 17" of soil depth with a 2-3" cypress mulch layer. When ever I top water a tea or the like, ambient RH spikes. It goes down faster as the mulches surface dries. But I also use blumats with the blusoak, and It was suggested to me in my grow thread, to bury the blusoak under the mulch. Since I did just that, I haven't had any spikes in RH from the blumats. Only when I top water. I think that even if your just using drip emitters instead of the blusoak, you'd have the same result with consistent RH. It's when you wet an area from the top you have all that surface area that's going to release moisture, not what's under the mulch.

since this is gonna be a custom made bed i can go deep as i want but i haven’t got enough cooked soil to fill evn 150 gals so i may just go with 20s for a couple of runs and cook some more soil on the side, prepare for a bed upgrade?

I've got 2 journals going now. The links are in my Sig. The closet I'm only using 650 watts. And only have 2 plants in it. But I average about 6 ounces a piece probably. I've got 8 ounces too. But I haven't really been weighing it anymore. Just eyeballing it based on how many jars I fill.

I've never flowered in the tent. But it has a Mars using about 275-280 watts that's a week behind the closet.

They don't grow as fast as hydro, but it works for me. And I still think organic buds taste better even though even though some people disagree.

Yeah there's no reason to make things worse with RH. @myke has a nice thing going with the sips and modified lids. But if you don't have enough soil to fill a bed, the 20gal pots will surely turn out nice organic plants.

In the meantime tho you could always get a batch of compost cooking and just add all your ammendments to that. By the time your ready for a bed, there's no wait time like most when they ammend soil. Something like a super compost.

yeah i‘d go organic definitely in anycase. and i don’t really care much about fast growth like hydro. i’m gonna be vegging in a 2x2 under 120w and then go straight into 12/12 in 20 gallons each under 120 (can be pushed to 200 if need arises). thats my plan at least if i can upgrade my lights fast

yeah i liked his sips too. my worm bin is always cooking and gonna keep it cooking and all the stuff i have on hand will go to the pots probably (bat guano, manure, compost etc.) but i’m gonna keep composting and cooking in my worm bin definitely.

maybe when i buy a bigger dehum which i plan to anyway i can better control the rh and feel brave enough to lay 150gal of wet soil into my tent but atm i think 20s have to do.

I'm the same way, I eyeball my dry weight, especially with strains I'm familiar with. On average I can get 2 - 2.5oz to a qt jar. Any upgrades or modifications I may do to my equipment, environment and nutrient management I like to get a dry weight. Flower density and formation are really the only variables when I try my hand at an unfamiliar stain/ pheno.

I live in a state where we just legalized, and I've been helping people grow for a couple decades.
I have gotten just this question a number of times.
My answer after looking into the problem?
You are watering too infrequently. Your growing medium should never get to where water runs off it like a duck's back.
That only happens to me when it gets too dry, or when I mix fresh soil.
Otherwise, the water in the medium wicks the water into the medium.
If the medium is dry, the microlife is dead.
Perhaps you are using an untreated coco in your base soil? A little Yucca, such as was advised earlier, will condition the soil.
Water less, and more frequently.
Fabric pots are just superior in practice in the grow room.
Plastic pots have their place, and they are great for using over and over to pot and repot plants, but they are not great for a plant like cannabis, bred to be an athlete, which will process water like an electric pump.
As a 'final home', plastic pots tend to create dead zones in the center, due to excess moisture, airless conditions, and anaerobic bacteria.
Fabric pots are much more forgiving, and in fact wick water away from the pot to avoid anaerobic bacteria being present in the soil. Yes, fabric pots do lead to water loss, but that's not always a bad thing in a closed environment. I manage my low humidity with my fabric pots.
If you worry about the air pruning reducing the size of the root ball, get a bigger pot.
That would be my answer if asked.
Truth is, fabric pots raise humidity in your grow, you must water more frequently, and eventually the plants will 'eat' them and they will fall apart.
But plastic pots could result in a sluggish plant that doesn't seem happy no matter what you do.
It's all about how much time you have and the state of your grow.
Experience from trying different things will tell you what works best for you.
(oh, I live in a wealthy area where people want the BEST!, and I personally know of a half dozen blumat systems piled up in garages, because they almost always result in root rot unless you are standing over your planter all the time - they are not so plug and play as folks say)

I would find 2 totes that fit in the 4x2 tent rather then 2 round pots.

Also you keep mentioning drainage material with sips,there is none with a wick.Others ways like a fabric pot sitting on perlite work but its simpler with a wick.

thanks for your input buzzfarmer, i don’t really think i’m underwatering them as i don’t even wait for the pots to feel kinda light. i just can’t with the fabrics because that dry ring around the pots really bothers me. so i’m overwatering in my opinion to compensate and the way i see it i feel like i’m gonna give plastic pots a chance. a cool benefit is that i can fit 4 20gallon square plastic easy in the tent but i can’t fit 4 20 gallon fabrics in there because of the width.
i’m also battling with high rh so cutting down on some watering may end up saving me some money and headache down the line too.

for now i just ordered 4x20gallon square pots and gonna give those a try thanks for your input man i may try the wick thing in future i just dont have enough info and experience with that to make it work atm
