When to harvest with foxtails?

Quick question for you guys? My plant is foxtailing bad. It's been 12 weeks. The foxtails are still stacking and putting out new pistils. I don't see any new pistils on the rest of the buds. What's the consensus on harvesting while still foxtailing?

That's the problem. They keep growing spires. I'm not real happy with this strain. Imo, she's real light sensitive.

Buds are chunking up … you are just about there at finish. Lights often cause new pistil growth especially at upper points of flower.
IMO keep going til you feel it’s ready.


Or you can box it up … shoot over to my “ lung lab “ where I will subject it to a series of small fires to help you figure it out.

They don't seem to be getting thick, like I like them to be. I'm guessing it's from the vertical stacking?

Hard to tell from the close ups, but all your leaves still look pretty green. You got time to thicken up. Mine didn't really plump up until the fans started to yellow. Now they are twice the size.

For sure. That's what I'm gonna do. I'm curious to see what happens and how big the spires will get anyways. Lol

I keep my soil pretty well fed. This is 2nd cycle no till, so I don't let it get too depleted. She's faded a bit, but she still has plenty of food.

Looks good! And tasty for sure. Congrats!

I got plenty from my last run, so I can hold out, but it'll still be rough having to wait another month or so, to smoke the new.

I started growing in a tent AND added wattage in January. Temps well maintained in the 80s. Foxtails galore 87 days into 12/12. I think it's the additional intensity of light that's caused it. Same strain in an open room grew more normally. Bruce Banner.

I don't worry much about fox tails. They are a small part of the whole and smoke just fine

How do the pistils look on the rest of the plant ? I wait until they have all changed color and at least have started to recede.

And the trichomes are at least all white, some amber is good too !

For me, this is a couple of days early but it worked out that she had to come down tonight.

Gelato Auto, 97 days. Almost 14 weeks !
