Your question will find more fertile ground here:Just harvested and thinking of making cannabis tincture because the cannabutter is making me fat... However I don't like alcohol which is what tinctures involve... I heard you can use vegetable glycerin instead. Does anyone have any experience of this? Thanks
Agree that this is a good way to go. I've been decarbing (leaving as whole flower, not grinding), freezing the flower & the alcohol (198 proof instead of 190 proof Everclear)...doing a cold-extraction in the freezer, then evaporating the alcohol off to get FECO. From there you can dissolve the FECO in glycerin or alcohol or probably a fat/oil if you wanted. You can use vegetable glycerin. I never had good luck with it. I use 190 proof Everclear then use a hot plate outside to gently boil off the Everclear then add the vegetable glycerin. Can make it as strong as you like within limits without the sting. I usually do the quick wash.
