Possible to get nute burn and be deficient?

Is it possible to have nute burn and be Nitrogen and Potassium deficient?

After looking at some of my lower to bottom leaves that is my diagnosis.


Some plants I have all green with a yellow trim around the edges and others I have yellowish with brown spots all sporadically. These all happen on my bottom leaves.

I am ready to say fuck it b/c I dont know what to do. I flushed one of these plants 26 hours ago and nothing changed.

it could be a nut lockout. meaning if your ph is too high it wont let those nutrients do their work and it shows up looking like a burn sometimes

How long after a flush should you see signs of potential improvement? How long after flush should you feed again?

I used up all my capsules The water is urine colored if that helps.

I am going to flush all the plants today. My weekly feeding is on Wed. After I flush today should I wait a while before feeding again or continue with my schedule(i will be giving a small amount)

The thing is if you flush at the wrong pH level then you are not improving the situation if the issue is related to the pH.

The color of the water does not indicate the pH level, it usually indicates the color of the nutrient you are using. Your plants will get the full array of macro and micro elements if the soil is at a constant pH of 6.5

Also a more regular feeding regime prehaps with less nutes per feed would be more benificial than once a week. To give a plant enough nutrients to last a week could lead to nutrient burn in the days following feeding.

Once you have flushed you can give them a half strength feed of nutrients. But most important when flushing is to correct the pH.

Thanks so much for your patience and advice. My current schedule is water and nutes in Wed(280 ppm last feeding) and then just water on Saturday. Dunno how how switch that up without over watering.

I guess Im going to have to get another ph testing kit to find out if there is lockout. I tested the soil of the plant and it gave me a reading of 7, so that made me confused.

soil run off is hard to test. you wanna test the minimal amount of sample to get a reading, but you will often dilute your sample.

plants soil should be in the 5.8-6.6 range, so if your reading a pH of 7, and the sample you tested became diluted, your soil may be even higher, like 7.5-8.

testing soil pH never seemed like a great idea to me. personally, i would rather pH my water to the level i want the soil, say 6.3, and then flush my pot with a 1.5:1 water to pot size amount. this way, your basically starting your soil from scratch, with the proper pH, and you can then start adding nutrients back in. it also clears out salt build up too.

Sounds right, i guess. Im from NY and I love poutine, its the best 3am after a night of drinking...lol
