Stunted flowering

Hello again. My problem is getting worse and i really need an answear as i am worried 24/7, didn’t find an answear anywhere. So i have three girls, it’s been like 5 weeks since i switched to 12/12 and it is my first grow:

Barbara kush-the most “neglected” one, biggest buds, healthy, no problems(you can see her in the picture with the biggest buds, the rest are from og, and the difference can be easily seen()

Og kush-the bushiest one, the one that is scaring me, it started with some rusty spots that remaind like that for 2 weeks but for two days they are becoming like circles. The BIG PROBLEM is that the flowers haven’t grown in like 3 weeks, nothing changed.

Whidak 47-youngest, smallest one, but healthy.

My question is, does og have a calcium def? Are the flowers doomed for good or they can revive?? I’m waiting for some bone meal that should arrive these days…

I’ve been told this and i checked with a led microscope multiple times and i didn’t see a thing. Some of the white spots are some wood dust that got stuck there. Is it possible they come and go?) if this is it how can i get rid of this? This is the cause for the stunted flowering? If it was thrips it shouldn’t been on all 3 plants? Only one is damaged. Also it can’t be a calcium def? I am lost amd have so many questions

That's not thrip damage. I currently have thrips, again, and they leave shiny patches not random dots like mites do.

If you seriously can't find any bugs then it's possibly low Ca but a weird manifestation of it if it is and bone meal isn't going to do squat. Some CalMag may help but you don't mention what they are growing in or what you're feeding them.

Have you looked for bugs with a magnifying glass or something? With all those spots you should be able to see mites or thrips with a decent set of eyes or in my case prescription reading glasses. Mites lay their eggs on the undersides of the leaves mostly and they look like big trichomes stuck right to the leaf without a stalk like real trichomes.

Here's a couple mites and an egg close by. The reflection of the little LEDs in the scope can be seen in the centre of the egg.



You need better lighting so your plants don't stretch out so much. OG Kush should be a lot bushier than yours.

I would think it's lack of N that stunted the growth. Kush are hungry indica plants and I have to feed those much higher levels than the sativa dominant plants I grow to get the same results.

Are these liquid nutes something like Shultz's or Miracle Grow? Both will work but are lacking in some micronutrients and mainly for things like flowers.

Banana tea will add some K but those nutes are high enough in that so really not a lot of use. Plant food meant for tomatoes works pretty good with pot and you should be able to get some of that.

I hear you about being paranoid to buy online. We're legal now in Canada but I would still rather walk into a grow store and pay cash. It's making me more paranoid buying lab glassware for my still online but there aren't any stores I can get stuff like that. As it is there's a 2 hour drive for me to get to a grow store tho the garden centre should be opening soon and it's just 20 min away. I'm way up north in Bumf*ck Alberta with 2 pot stores in the small town 16kms away but not a hydro shop for 185km. Go figure.

Do you have regular garden stores where you can get stuff? If I knew what kind of stores you have available I could maybe look some stuff up and recommend a few things to help. Like soil. If you are just using potting soil alone you should have something in there to loosen it up like perlite. I'm growing in peat-based ProMix HP and adding store bought manures and other organics to after almost 20 years of growing in DWC using strictly hydro nutes.

Just flipped mine to flower a week ago. Got two Pink Kush in the back on the right, 3 Cherry Noir, a GG#4 and an all CBD one called Earth Lover. 16L pots under a 600w Hortilux Super HPS light riding on a light mover to cover them all well. Been bending the taller tops over by hand and will soon have to install some bamboo stakes to tie the branches to before the buds get big and pull them over. That'll be a month yet before the buds look decent.

Every garden store has literally bullshit, multiple brands with the same npk, the same thing under multiple names…since they started flowering i really downed the nitrogen, tomorrow is watering day so i will add some, at this point i’m trying anything. I read about so many things before i started, but now this problem had me spinning. My biggest concern is this stunted flowering. Do you think it will remain like this? I’m in eastern europe, we have only gardening sections in big construction stores, and online shops but very basic, this one i’m using was a cactus nute i found online-the only one with higher pk than n. And not that it is illegal but i have friends that ordered lights online from a website special for cannabis and the package was delivered by the cops. Should i remove the sick fan leaves? I’m going from one thing to another but it’s a mess in my mind

With ailing plants I'll leave the bad leaves on until full yellow. If the plant isn't getting what it wants from the soil it will steal mobile nutes from the older leaves so they act a bit like a backup.

It sounds like you have enough goodies in there to keep them growing so other than maybe the pH is way off causing lockouts I'm not sure why they'd stall like that. If those spots aren't caused by bugs then a fungal.mould infection could cause that. What's your humidty like in the grow space? It usually has to be fairly damp especially in the dark for those kinds of problems. Very dry here most of the time so I never get that kind of issue.

Maybe check out this nute chart. I've used it many times to figure out problems buy playing detective with all the clues around the plants.

A strange thing i noticed today, in the last days trying to heal them i think i overwatered a bit, but now i let the soil dry and when i woke up today i saw that those spots are slowly dissapearing. I don’t know if it’s in my head but they don’t seem as bad as yesterday. Is it possible?

I doubt very much that the spots will ever disappear but maybe new growth looks better so makes it seem like less.

If it's dry then it's unlikely to be a fungal problem like powdery mildew. I just looked that one up and it's nothing like your issues so not that.

I'll have to get back to you later. Big snow storm settling in and I need to run to town for a few things in case we get stuck for a few days. Most likely not but best to be prepared around here.

This is a leaf from the lowest part of the plant, it lools terrible, there was just one-the one in the pic-but still. The stunted growth is driving me crazy( and she is not eating well, still wet and i watered 2 days ago, normally they eat one day, next day fine, second day dry so wet again…idk i’m lost

Leaves from the bottom always seem to be the worst when you have problems so if it's really bad I'd just pluck it off and get rid of it. No pic tho.

We only got about 3" of snow so that should be gone soon as it's +3 already. Cloudy but can feel the heat getting thru.

Bonemeal for pets? Is that for feeding them? Never heard of that.

Regular bonemeal is mixed in with your soil and very slowly breaks down to release it's nutrients. It's not for a quick fix and can take years to fully break down. We just got a 4kg tub of it to be used in the garden and is a good source of phosphorous with a little nitrogen but no potassium. There will be some calcium and magnesium in it as well.

Experienced organic growers mix up batches of soil with all their additives like bonemeal, dolomitic lime, gypsum etc then moisten it well and and fill tubs, garbage pails etc and keep it somewhere warmish so it can 'cook'. By cook they mean to give it time for beneficial bacteria and fungi to eat at it and poop out salts that the plant can absorb and grow with. This assumes you have a good bio-herd in the mix to do the breaking down so the addition of such things helps.

With hydro nutes the salts are already in a form the plants can absorb so when applied they are immediately available to the plants thereby cutting out the middleman with no bacteria or fungi needed. These are available in powders or pre-mixed in bottles for use. The powder forms are cheaper by far but you need to know what you are doing to use either of them correctly. Things like Peter's or Jack's Professional nutes come with instructions but blindly following them usually results in problems like burnt plants and that happens with the liquid forms too. My first foray into hydro nutes was back in '82 and came as base salts like Epsom Salts, ammonium nitrate etc and a photocopy of instructions how to mix them up. If you know what you're doing you can tweak your blends to fit the plants needs and that can be done to some extent with regular powders or liquid forms.

When trying to find stuff to grow with just ask for things good for tomatoes because pot thrives in the same conditions tomatoes do.

I’m doing my best with what i can find here…it’s so damn hard when you don’t have choices because you can’t even get to the point of trying something because you don’t have the stuff…trying to find this dolomite lime in my language turned out like this->the translation “var dolomitic”-> something for construction bases, “mortars”? I don’t know if this is the term. Wtv it had no thing for a plant. And this is with most stuff, but with nutes and other feeding things…0 variety. While i was writing this i was looking for calmag, the thing i read everyone had as a must and i only found one but i am really happy cause i ordered now one biobizz calmag and one bio bloom. These were the most decent things i could find. Do you think it can make a difference now at 5 weeks flowering? Not making the buds bigger but maybe keep them in a better state until the end? Strange, two weeks ago there weren’t these in that store. But i’m reading about so many things I can’t find here it’s crazy

I'd hit them up with a half dose of the bloom nutes and the same with the other too. Could kick them in gear and fatten up the buds a lot more yet.
