What amendment to add to soil to help with high cal.

Pretty sure my tap water and previous grows done with mg ferts cause high build ups oil salt and calcium. What amendment can I use to help level things out I mixed rain water and some soil mixed for 5 min then drained water and tested it only dropped from 7.1-6.8 I read that’s how you can test soil ph without a probe. I plan to get a ppm pen but that’s gonna be a minute

Too level things (Ca++) levels out.....is it the "salt" residue that shows on top of soil, leaves and bottoms of pots, or is there a issue with plant growth?

Sense I remixed my soil with peat an pear lite I don’t see sal residues on soil but before I did definitely stunted plant growth yellowing iron deficiency signs random shit I got my water straight so I gotta figure my soil out like 3-4 days ago I transplanted old mothers into fresh mixed soil but I was retarded and should have flushed the soil before I put plants into it or coast of Maine stonington blend

Acids break the bond of Ca. Then they become easier to flush out. It's a chelating agent. When it looks like I have excess Ca I start adding citric acid to my water. Just a tiny bit though.

My well water is around 7.8 and has Ca in it. 1/16 tsp per gal drops it to like 6.8 or so.

The citric acid is a good remedy for on going grows
Humic acids, earthworm casts and compost will help condition the soil for better chemistry; ion exchange when remixing your soils.
R/O water would make your feeds more optimal and easier to correct or supplement for nutrient deficiencies.

Yea I got rainwater besides stupid tap with crazy cal an chlorine but I’ve been conditioning the soil slowly but surely lmao I took over for an old man who used tap an mg ferts so I took alll of his soil which was sprawled out between pots with no plants and mixed everything with organic stuff

Honestly I’m waiting to see how the plant reacts to new soil mix an water so far deficiencies continue to appear I need a ppm probe and a soil sample tested honestly don’t have money for new soil fuck don’t need it I need to fix what I got lol

Get a soil and a water test. It'll give you a better idea of how to amend your soil.
