A panel who has multiple levels and various different types of social experiences should be tasked with its oversight not one individual is all I’m saying not necessarily the republican or Democrat parties as your hinting at. But will more than likely end up that way with big brother meddling in everything. So you would want somebody bigger than twitter and facebook to rein them in, because being too big is bad ?

And that is exactly why all social media platforms should have strictly enforced rules about what is and isn't allowed, and the focused algorithms should be fucking outlawed yesterday. Not just the advertising ones, the ones they use to suggest who you should follow or interact with as well. People play those every day to get easily influenced morons indoctrinatedAll these social platforms already influence many. They bend the narrative to whatever their CEO/Board want them to push. Look what Suckerburg spent on the election to influence the end result, 400+ million. Unfortunately allot of people listen to whatever crap these platforms are dishing out. Why so down on Elon? At least he believes in freedom of speech and will allow other opinions on Twitter ( I hope ). These platforms are about making money through advertising and influencing people. All part of their algorithms.
There is a difference between free speech and propaganda with a goal of defrauding or deluding the simple minded. Musk will allow more propaganda, under the pretext of free speech
That's exactly how musk should dress, like a southern plantation owner, he wants to own everyone's minds, and since he can't, he'll settle for manipulating them via social media....
I am not in favor of political parties or politicians.A panel who has multiple levels and various different types of social experiences should be tasked with its oversight not one individual is all I’m saying not necessarily the republican or Democrat parties as your hunting at. But will more than likely end up that way with big brother meddling in everything.
There are millions of fucking morons in this country, and billions world wide who ARE that easily influenced, I hear it all the fucking time. One thing about twitter is the number of actual users is much lower than they claim. Just as facebook does, they use accounts created for the number of users which isn't the actual amount of active users. Many people create an account and then never use it. Or they forget their login information and create a new account. I don't think twitter is as big a deal as some people make it out to be. Most people have lives and don't have time to be following a bunch of yahoos on twitter.
I also don't think twitter posts are going to change anyone's minds about anything so it doesn't really matter who tweets what or who owns and controls it.
Own minds? That's exactly how musk should dress, like a southern plantation owner, he wants to own everyone's minds, and since he can't, he'll settle for manipulating them via social media....
Big brother is the government and no I would not prefer politicians over see it but that’s how it would end up unless I appoint the committee lolI am not in favor of political parties or politicians.
Would your panel be appointed by politicians ? Who is big brother ?
Sure they can, what's your point?Did you read the my previous post? Then youd know what I was referring too. Anyways we're living in the 2000s, anyone can find videos of the daily white house press breifings.
You can appoint some of the oversight committee. You.Big brother is the government and no I would not prefer politicians over see it but that’s how it would end up unless I appoint the committee lol
Ahh make believe eh comrade? Its quite hilarious. Currently the left is mad....and im not making this up....they are mad that a political candidate could be censored or banned on titter. Or that opposing view points could be censored, shadow banned, or manipulated by private algorithms. Especially during the mid term elections. Hypocrites are disgusting chomos.
Good points.the meltdown is so enjoyable right now.. As soon as they cant dictate a whole platforms outcome by massive censorship, suddenly its the biggest threat to democracy.
Funny how a week ago, twitter was "a private company, it can do what it wants", and almost overnight suddenly its the biggest threat to democracy and needs to be silenced. Suddenly 'private companies should never have this much reach", when that amount of reach was perfectly fine a few days ago. Don't out yourselves so quickly.
well saidFree speech should be "censored" by rebuttals to the premise, not by the force of politics. It's how people will evolve.
I think its two different points. They are a private company, they are not obligated to protect or provide freedom of speech. The second part is that they are hugely influential and have sadly become the only source of information for many people. The two don't negate each other.the meltdown is so enjoyable right now.. As soon as they cant dictate a whole platforms outcome by massive censorship, suddenly its the biggest threat to democracy.
Funny how a week ago, the administration had the open opinion that "twitter was a private company, it can do what it wants", and almost overnight suddenly its the biggest threat to democracy and needs to be silenced. Suddenly 'private companies should never have this much reach", when that amount of reach was perfectly fine a few days ago. Don't out yourselves so quickly.
Anyone that relies on these platforms are idiots anyway. i only care what my family, friends and love ones think. No facebook, twitter or anything here, just the real world and RIU
The countdown until "right wing troll" gets thrown around a million times begins now.
Twitter didn't have our best interests at hand before, and it won't going forwards. It was and will be a cesspool of ideological arguments and narcissism.
