Duct tape looks way more ghetto (gorilla duct tape does look the best though, 4 sure), and leaves residue if you remove it. I could caulk the pinholes with surgical precision so good you wouldn't even be able to tell anything was ever done, lol. Not like blobbing it on there.

Tape it on the inside with reflective tape. Or silver duct tape. No one will ever see but you.

Don't put caulk on a tent ever fam . omg.

Get some black gorilla tape and go over any seams with a strip of that.

Sometimes you have to use a wad of it to remove loose lint, then the second piece sticks well.

Also, remove the velcro vents and carefully put them back on as flat as possible before taping them,

They may just close well enough to leave them alone as is.

Small zipper light leaks won't cause problems but a beam of light could cause a branch to herm.

Ambient light is still light. Saying you can run in a lit room with vents wide open shows the person

experience, not a good way to do things. Start doing it right and have the best results.

Agree with all you say though.
People shouldn’t trip on pinholes and seams. Same for power strip and fan lights.
Plants just need darkness, not pitch black.
Even the lower vents, if facing a wall, can remain open in a lit room. Mine are. Never a problem.

I just counted 50 or 60 light leaks along the seams & along the entire course of zipper. Is it normal to see so many stars when you turn your bedroom lights off

How big does a leak need to be to cause a prob come flower time? And yea about a dozen reviews on Amazon said don't bother contacting customer service

For all the talk of people complaining about pin holes in tents, I've never had a problem with either of my tents and flowering. The amount of life required to screw with the plant is a lot more then what people presume. Remember, the plant has adapted to being able to handle a full moon so small amounts of life leaking through isn't going to be a problem.

Now if you're shinning a spot light directly on the tent then it may give you a issue, but imo that's unlikely and more of a niche circumstance.

I have plenty of small little holes that you can see when the lights are on in there, but they are tiny and I can only see the light not any detail through the hole.

The zippers have a double flap that blocks light. if your not careful when zippering they bunch up sometimes. I am also one of the people that do not believe pin hole light leaks cause issues. I also have an AC 3x3 and a 6" Cloudline. There are pinholes in a lot of areas around the tent. I am not concerned one bit from that. I also have my passive vents open with LED boards on the outside of the plant for some house plants. 7 weeks into flower and not one sign of issue.

You might look at getting the tent from AC directly instead of the grow shop. Seems like you have 2 items that were defective and they gave you bunk info. I lean towards it being the problem but again, I'm no expert

That slot in the side is an insert for their controller 67. They’re decent tents but I can see how the light leaks might cause some worry if your tents not in a dark room during lights off.

AC finally got back to me, requested documentation & after a few days they're going to send a replacement tent cover (just the cover, not an entire tent). As soon as i get it, I'll tear down my entire setup again... put the new cover on, light it up & update here.

Mine came in today. I'm currently cleaning up my old one and putting the AC up. I'm just hoping it's not going to have issues. GL brother.

If pinholes are a concern get some liquid electrical tape from the hardware store and dab a bit on each hole while the light is on inside. I used it to coat the two prongs that stick out of the middle of LED bulbs when you pop the globes off so I don't get a nasty shock when I bump my arm into one working on the plants.

My used 2x4' Vivosun tent has maybe a dozen tiny pinholes scattered around the whole tent and the zippers are light tight so sometimes you get more than you paid for.

I got a tent directly from ACI. Felt great setting it up, heavy cloth, nice equipment bar. Light leaks weren't too terrible, but the fact the zipper wasn't sewn in correctly was a big issue. Every time I rounded the lower corner of the door the zipper got stuck and had to be yanked past that corner. Called ACI and they just sent me an entire new tent minus frame. New bag, new tent. Haven't set that new one up yet as I'm currently using the old one as a drying tent so I can't comment on the zipper, light leaks or anything else but ACI did me a solid and replaced the tent no questions asked really.

I was never a fan of the 4x4 design as there's no side doors. For accessibility I had some decent runs with the SF tent. So far though for durability and height I just ended it and went GGT. Going forward if I need another tent it'll just be the GGT as the QC seems better in the small sample I've seen.

As far as the pin holes I doubt whatever can make it through a pinhole in a normally lit room will trigger a response from the plants. As a sort of simple test, take your phone inside the tent and run a light meter app. See if you can get a foot-candle measurement anywhere in the tent from the pinholes. If you can't see that much leakage the plants won't respond. A basic rule of thumb for us simple folk is keep the light level lower than a foot candle inside the tent. That measurement is how much light does 1 lit candle produce at 1 foot distance. I'm not thinking you're getting that much light inside the tent but I could be wrong. Try measuring.

Interesting, i sent photos & detailed imformation to AC & they still required a photo of the receipt & the plate # from me. It definitely wasn't "no questions asked".

As for the "pinholes" yea I'm not worried about that. However the zippers don't seal properly & that's all over the tent. Also we're talking inches of this, not a milimeter, not a single set of teeth. See attached photos. Anyways, hope the new one has better QC, looks like it shipped today.

I also had pin hole issues with my tent. I found that coleman seam sealer used for a camping tent just about blocked all the light. It was not 100% light blockage but it was barely noticeable and it only took about 10 mins for each application. I put on two coats of seam sealer and was happy with the results.

More hermies are caused by stress created by the grower than by light from some pinholes in a tent. Stress includes overfeeding and poor watering practices which are quite common.
