AC Infinity Cloudray 6" Auto Oscillating Fan

It is eh? The company itself must have had about 6 of these in stock when the switch was flipped. By the time I added the mandatory 2 count to the cart, selected my account address from the dropdown and entered my credit card at the ready, they'd already sold out by the time the transaction tried to process. Which failed due to no more left on hand.

That was about the stupidest product launch I've ever seen.

I have the 6 inch non oscillating cloudray fan and it's really weak. I paid 40 dollars for it and I have a 20 dollar smaller fan that pushes more air than this. I got it because my controller can control it but holy moly is it ever weak... I am not a fan. I might try the 9 inch oscillating next

They really know how to build the hype on these fans. Where is the competition?
It's in China, so there is no competition. This is a part of the reason you can buy a fan perceived to be of higher quality for a price similar to the other imported junk. China subsidizes it's exports to keep prices artificially low to steer competition towards itself. The company that spits these out does it for likely more than just the "AC Infinity" brand, China and it's company just control the market while they can. If it starts to die out you'll see this stuff showing up on the "As Seen on TV" shelf at Walmart.

You can't compete against ACI. They're a Chinese controlled company DBA in this country. Basically they're importers who started a retail website.

Good to know! All the YouTubers who drank the koolaid espoused nothing but greatness with this new gear. Better to wait until they've been in the hands of people who aren't getting free stuff to hear what they're really worth.

Wow. Sucks to hear that they're such a disappointment. Was looking into buying some myself but now it sounds like it may not be worth it. The digital control and EC motors were appealing but if they can't do the actual job and are underpowered then you'd need multiple and the price point just doesn't work in that scenario. I'd expect to pay a premium for EC and digital/smart control but come on...

The new AC fans only pull 12 watts from the wall.
No matter how well designed, EC motor or not, 12w only goes so far.
i have a couple 6” honeywells hung in my tent…even at low setting they’re stronger than I like, so I’ve damped them down with gaffers tape. Still willing to give these a shot if they’re not gale-force. A pair of them oscillating all the time or alternating still looks pretty good.

The AC ones may work better for your application. The specs claim they use a bearing for the pivot mechanism (rather than a crude bushing) so they should be much more reliable than the existing clip-on oscillating fan options.

Yes, and I’ve enjoyed using the two fans from opposing sides and alternating their on/off cycles… it’s allowed me to provide varying airflow for the plants. I’d do similarly, or do one up, one lower.
