UVB test in 2x2

For those small grows looking to utilize UVB light. I have made it work without harm using a reptisun 10.0 UVB bulb t5. Running along side my Sf1000 led on a slight angle to direct it at the plant more since UVB cannot reflect off of the tent walls. I ran this light for almost 3 weeks straight at 12.5 hour light schedule ON. Ran it as low as 8 inches with zero I'll effects from the UVB light. I have never grown grease monkey but have clones to compare to soon for the test. Some will not be under UVB. We will see if the UVB output was enough to make that extra dent claimed by so many others that use them.
This is of unknown breeder genetics, supposedly "grease monkey"
Several photos of exotic genetics grease monkey had similarities in leaf structure. I got the lighter, tropical colored version vs this dark devil of a grow.
Again, I have no idea because it was a wholesale item.
I will say, this thing stanks up the whole house just trimming 1 single plant In the garage.
Not as trichomes covered as some other cultivars but def one sticky strain. During the grow it did have very large trichomes. The were very easy to read the finish for plenty of Amber to be present within the bud itself. Really hoping I have found something that pushes the content and terpenes off the chart.

Anyone else with experience using UVB light?
I have an agro max pure UV I'm totally afraid to even use until I have a larger grow space.
Was directed to this reptile bulb.

Thanks for checking this out.

meh...I ran those reptile bulbs and didn't get any noticeable improvement. Next run, I'm going back to the old school unshielded HID bulbs....MH and HPS. That way, there's always plenty of UV.

I've used UVB a few times. I usually use it for what's normally considered weaker cultivars, hoping that it's bringing things up a notch. I also have used the pureUV bulb, no problems with it. I basically throw it on for 2 hours in the middle of the day for the last 2 weeks of the grow.

The PureUV bulb is in a CLW unit positioned 3 feet above the canopy if I have the room. As I was advised from CLW, UVB only need touch a few areas on the entire plant to cause it to start up the UVR8 pathway. My UVB is above my bar light which casts a shadow on the plants. Operating under the assumption that CLW is correct, the resulting shadows don't matter as all the plants are getting struck by the UVB.

I've never tried testing the theory between clones but as the light wasn't that expensive I figured I'd give it a try. At the limits I'm using it I notice no degradation in the result, only that the results are as expected. With all I have going on I don't have the time to try clone testing. And lab results can vary depending on where on the plant you took the test material from. Smokin' it's the only way I can tell for me and as it doesn't hurt anything. I use it on anything alleged to be a less potent strain or where terpenes were lacking before.

I grew with HPS and old Philips CMH for years, still keep CMH around for tha UV and IR but haven’t used those for a while either. My Boards do put out a lot more light per watt.

All my leds have ir diodes and give off enough heat, not has much as my old hid stuff. Kinda curious about throwing in some supplemental uv, been looking at either the solacure flower powers or the hlg 30 uva bars.
