My Sundae Punch, according to the breeder is a 8 week strain. I am on day 50 from flip to 12/12 and have 10-15% amber. Some new pistils popping but not much. Seems early no? Get ready for chop at day 60?

Plant looks great!

It's easy to chop too early but difficult to chop too late

It's rare to be done in less than 70 days from flip, irrespective of breeder claims

ok, without sending a link of a tutorial, send me a picture of what buds closeup and trichomes cloudy/amber should look at 1 week before harvest.
I do not mind waiting since I have plenty medicine, but I am getting to that point.

that what I needed. I know better than to chop early. I think when I use to grow and had no meds I was over eager to cut early, vs now, yes I want to cut, but I have meds and can wait it out. Why dont people just say 50/50 cloudy amber? I also have read, when you think your plants are ready wait at least 1 if not 2 weeks. I have 14 sativas in there also. so I am drooling at the indica dominant. Thanks for the tip.

Most of us don't even look at trichs anymore.

From the pics only amber I see are on sugar leaves. Have to look at calyx for trichomes. The sugar leaves will ripen sooner and be misleading. The top growth closest to light will look ripe due to the sugar leaves. You can use the under side of sugar leaves up close to the bud further down on the plant it's relatively accurate. Trichomes look the same until they don't and are ready to harvest. If you go by the swollen calyxes and receding pistils that's on point every time. Gotta think to, a breeders flower time doesn't begin at 1212 light change. Plants don't immediately go into flower. There's a transitioning period that takes around 2 wks. Always add 2 wks to flower time from light flip. Most go longer 13-15 weeks from light flip
( speaking on a 10 week breeders flower time ). My photo runs vegging 2 to 3 months generally run 6 months round about.
