Coco/Perlite/FFOF Autoflower Grow QUESTIONS

Hello fellas.

I am currently running Mother Earth coco/perlite 70/30. I am really enjoying how the plants grow/respond/look in coco.

I have been trying to find information on this for a few months but I've only found 1 reliable thread involving growing cannabis in a coco/soil mix.

I am going to be running 6-8 Autos next crop and for the medium I am wondering how I would have to feed since it would be a mix of coco and soil.

What would the optimal PH be? Since there's soil and its charged i wouldn't have to add feed for the first couple weeks right?
Another question would be watering...

I guess it would depend on the amount of soil/coco but most likely 1-2x a day.

Now after typing all of this im beginning to think/realize it probably wouldn't be as beneficial as just straight coco/perlite.

Well what do you guys think? I really just want to use coco & gaia green but apparently thats no Bueno either.

You mixed soil like ffof with coco/perlite?

What would the optimal PH have been since you had problems did you figure out what it should have been at?

I cant imagine what the PH should be

Any update would be helpful. Im running a 35%soil(ffof)/35%coco/20%perlite/10%earthworm casting. I've had success with both mediums and want to try and get the best of both worlds. I ph at 6-6.2 since coco is best at 5.5-6.5 and soil best at 6-7. So far so gd but its still early. End results and some tips on things u noticed would be boss. If anyone wants to weigh in it will be appreciated. If u need anymore details lmk.

Mixing coco and soil is not a good idea and doesn't result in some synergistic supermix

Pick one or the other
That won't help me on this run. So far so gd. I'm curious about results. For me the pro's out weigh the con's to doing this. I lose the hydroponics of coco but gain the water retention and living soil of ffof with the extra aeration of the coco. In short im using less nutes and water. 17 days from seedling and no nutes so far and only water it every 3-4 days.

17 days without nutes is because of FFOF. It will be the sole medium from which the plants will pull however since you decided to ratio less of it as part of your “ mix “ it will exhaust sooner.

Your photo is hard to gauge as plant color is washed out ( light green ).

More Pics without intense light.

Also the PH will be questionable as it would have much easier to adjust to either coco OR soil.
Not sure why “ kitchen sink “ a medium together.

“ I lose the hydroponics of coco but gain the water retention and living soil of ffof with the extra aeration

Makes zero sense - its like saying give me a big cup of beer but put holes in it to aerate it. But hey .. your plants.

Yes they look a lil light. Your beer analogy is what Makes zero sense tho honestly. It seems fox farm and mother earth don't agree with u. They have new soil/coco mixes. I just wanted to make my own since i had both.. Have u done any theory testing what so ever or just relied on old data u were told and read? I've tried numerous scenarios and set ups. I wasn't wanting a debate over if I should. I just wanted someone who has tried it to weigh in.

No need for asinine theory testing - just grow meds without janky ratio guessing.

There’s a reason why they are “ light in color “….. hmmmmm.

As far as “ testing “ … I have run multiple layered mixes ( sig ) and have presented many for those whom wish to run FFOF blends.

Here’s one :

Bottom 1/3 of Container FFOF
Top Fill - Mild potting ( recipe 420 / Promix ‘ Dr. Earth / etc. )
Add 20% perlite or pumice ( better )
EWC 10 - 15 % OF CONTAINER VOLUME
( Neem meal ) optional to condition soil and preventative pest

Water - Tap

Mild potting will “ sandbox “ initial growth and provide good rooting without overwhelming early plants.
Then you can either run a FFOF top dress as plant moves thru growth and plant is ALREADY acclimated to FFOF nute density right from bag. FFOF rides ph around 6.3 _ so if you want you can range your tap closer ( 6.6 / 6.7 ) and run the damn thing on water only.

OR decide on a good DRY FERTILIZER-

EB STONE RECIPE 420 RECHARGE / ULTRABLOOM
MEGACROP V2
HAPPY FROG FRUIT AND FLOWER
GH MAXIBLOOM / MAXIGROW ( POWDERED ) - for liquid feed.

So I know what I’m talking about.

Why don’t you just ask your buddy that grows 7ft indoor plants in coco and waters once a week. Oh wait never mind you already seem to have all the answers.

Im sure u grow well its not rocket science. But the fact u dont believe in any way except your own is crazy. But u never tried it cus u can't see the benefit. Cant wait to show and prove u wrong. I will keep updates. I can read my plants at this point regardless if there is any issues. These girls are resilient.
