I've grown hundreds of plants in hydro over the years and never seen anything like that.

Sure sounds like perlite to me.

I seen this shit back in the day buying ditch weed, 100% was perlite in the buds.

Sometimes sprinkling IPM on leaves flecks of shit.

also if you use a humidifer with high calcium in the water it can coat the room in this white dusty deposit shit.

Sounds like humidifier deposits or soil/perlite. All it takes is for them to come in contact with the sticky pistils.

Without a pic Herb, the simplest answer is that soil or medium got on the bud. That is exactly how it would look if you rolled a bud in soil and shook it off.

Little black dots like dirt = dirt, little white chunks = perlite. Seems pretty logical to me. If you have any kinda circulation down low, it'll get that shit all over the place.

That's the best I can do with pictures. It's just an oddity I didn't drop dirt and perlite from above

It's hard to see anything on these pics but it really needs a microscope shot to help identify the crystal structure.

There are a few nutrition ions which are known to crystallize out at the edges or end of the xylem, these are Calcium & Bor, and a third micro. The reason for this is that these ions have very little phloem-mobility and will not be loaded much into it.

it could be some kind of guttation though, is it at the margin of leaves? though that, and xylem-crystallization, are a very similar/related mechanism
