I don't worry about how long things take to veg. I fill the canopy space and flip when I feel like my plants are ready. If that's 8 weeks 12 weeks idc.

back in March/April I got shunned by some posters, said it was too long and the stretch would fuck me (it didnt).

stretch took me from 12 to 27 inches, so solid, but not more than I could handle.

It depends on your approach. If you're using a super soil, and don't plan on adding anything else, 8 weeks is too long to veg, but if you're using bottled nutes, or top dressing, it doesn't matter much.

Totally. A gal pot vegged for 2 months in soil vs a 15 gal isn't even a comparison. Hell man, you could even go way bigger if you have the room.

I go ten weeks as a standard practice, more if it looks like it needs it but I try to stick to 10.

10 gal containers filled to 8 gal (under filled slightly). Yeah I’m supplementing with the fox farms trio and adding some black strap molasses. They’re really cooking, honestly couldn’t be happier as a first timer.

Look great and you did a good job. I should say though when most people are talking about vegging long in soil they say it because they're only growing in soil and not adding anything but water. Of course in soil you can grow for any number of weeks if you're adding liquid fertilizer to it.

I think perhaps you just misunderstood what people meant by "you can't veg in soil for x time".

Are you saying there is N Toxicity due to the dark green leaves? Burnt tips?
As for heat stress what indicates there is heat stress in that picture?

Some leaves are shiny like wax. That's a sign of nitrogen toxicity. The heat stress is the leaves curling up like at the edges.
